Changing the mood a bit. From Brian Takumi on the reason for the Dog Tag:
Some history of the Oakley dog tag that's been done as gift with purchase at Oakley retail locations... Military and law enforcement units usually have challenge coins. They are usually earned by demonstrating some type of excellence and presented to an individual by the unit. With that in mind, if you were in a bar and pulled out your challenge coin, everyone in the bar has to pull theirs out. If they all have them, you have to buy a round for the entire bar. If someone doesn't have one, they have to buy a round for the entire bar. A few years ago, someone actually had the idea of making the dog tag bottle opener as the challenge coin. While not a coin, at least it has a function and you can put it on a chain or key ring. The coins, while cool, are fairly bulky to carry around for the purpose of whipping them out at a bar. So yes, while it is a dog tag bottle opener, it does have a story behind it. With that in mind, this holiday season, think of the serviceman around the world who will not get to spend time with their families. Especially remember those guys and gals who have paid the ultimate price ...
