If they’re starting to make the regular silver frame SKUs again, it sounds like they won’t be offering the 7806-AVG anymore. Hopefully that’s not the case. I think there is still a large demand for them.

So we finally get to see DITA’s flagship piece for the Epiluxury line. Though I personally can’t see why it’s $4,500, I can agree it comes with quite a serious presentation box:

Agreed on the price - love the box. Do the gloves come with it? Ha.

They’re trickling into stores now. That pair in that exact colourway is limited to 200 pairs worldwide. There is a second version with Black Ebony Wood (rather than Ash wood) that is also limited to 200 worldwide. The model is the EPLX 5:

Yeah I was looking at the site and trying to figure out how to order. EPLX 5 is the one I wanted.

Yeah, this release has had piss-poor communication. I can’t find which stores are getting them. I’m sure the DITA flagship stores in Cali, NY, Korea, Japan and Australia will be getting them, but all I’ve seen available so far is one in Netherlands and one in Italy (maybe one in Bucharest as well, but not sure).

I hope you get one! It looks fantastic.

Contest for one of the real Spidey: FFH prop glasses. US only, it appears. It seems DITA was on the money with their custom blue lenses:

Not sure if Nuke Venom has been talked about yet, but they sure got my attention.

I'm not sure if what I am seeing here is 100% legit and ready to go, especially since the company seems to have just launched as an IRL brand after a good couple of years of constant crowdsourcing and some struggling to get established. Still, they definitely are aiming high with their designs.

I saw them on IG a while back and my first thought was it is amateur-ish but shows potential. Some of their higher-end CF composite stuff is obviously inspired by the X-Squared and Radar EV but without the design refinements. The glasses look clunky and haphazardly thrown together and, even worse, is very unflattering to most of those who have worn it from the pics they’ve posted.

That said, I do look forward to seeing what they do in the future. They are a young company that is trying to do things a bit differently, so I’m hoping this translates into better looking products in the future.

Fascinating video and story on how the DITA Flight 006 ended up as a prop in the Spider-man: Far from Home movie. It also highlights the differences in understanding on what a vendor eyewear brand believes appears in a movie vs. what actually does appear.

An example is Jason's Spencer's claim he had (and sold) the only screen-worn prop for X-men when that was proven to be categorically incorrect. Similarly, Jason Kazmer (President of Initium Eyewear) claims a lot of things about being in the Marvel movies (usually when he wants to move some stock he has left over), but has been proven incorrect.

Highly recommended if you're into the DITA brand, the Spidey movie, or just background on director/prop master/producer vs. eyewear consultants vs. eyewear brand in terms of what gets on screen:

Does anyone collect Rudy Project? I've always stayed away from them since I've historically not been a fan of their styling, but they're doing good things.

I know they use ImpactX lenses (aka. NXT or Trivex or polyurethane), which is looked as the top dog for eyepro lens material these days, succeeding polycarbonate due to it having the same (some say better) impact protection, less inherent chromatic aberration and being lighter.

I also see they're using Graphene, which is the current super expensive wonder material. I'm sure, for the prices they are charging on their glasses, it's just a drop of it (or .5mm squared piece of it), but it's cool that they've incorporated the material into some of their products.

I haven't followed them since pretty much around the time this site started. They seemed to borrow heavily on the Oakley, larger than life, marketing speak, but I didn't care for the designs as much.

I have one of their "alien" head displays as well. I think all their display heads are pretty cool. Some of their rep cases are slick as well, as are their sunglass cases (Eyewear Patrol Pack and Tech Protector Case VI).

I don't really follow them. Haven't checked out their stuff in years. Can't remember when the last time was actually.

I do like their "Bob Head" display and some of their other display type stuff.

Oak can you post some of the stuff you mentioned of theirs?
