That's pretty amazing especially the fact that he has worn or plans to wear all of them at some point.
I used to be a Nike collector. I've sold four or five pairs. Looking to sell a few more. Ha. Some of them I can't bring myself to wear. I know to some people like this guy in the article it seems ridiculous but I liked some of them so much I didn't want to damage them. Funny thing is when I fall in love with a pair I either wear the hell outta them or don't wear them at all. I've worn about half of the collection. Some of them only once. I actually had about 15 pair on display in a bookcase for a few years too. I still love shoes but it's different these days. I buy a pair a year instead of six or seven.
Good article Ford. HED, I did most of my "collecting" in the late 80's to the mid-late 90's. Looking back on it - it almost seemed like a phase because, well, I don't "collect" or buy like I used too. I honestly don't think it really was though. I've always been into shoes for as long as I can remember. I got my first pair of Nikes when I was in third grade that was when Nike first started making basketball shoes. From there I was hooked I guess. I still love shoes I just don't "collect" like I used too anymore.
I think it's because I got into Oakley and my life started getting more involved. Plus it started to become too crazy. There were too many models being released, too many color-ways and it just didn't seem unique or special anymore. Now it's even worse. I still keep track of what's new and so forth it's just over-saturated in my opinion.
Finally, I got my McFly Bruins!!!!! only for 66 quid(104 bucks)BNIB
and there's still one more available from the UK 8.5 and they're re-releases not the originals, but I'm willing to live without having the heel being in reverse.
Hey I was just wondering if anyone who lives in America would be able to help me at all? I want to buy A pair of cole haan shoes, but you need a American credit card and address. If anyone could help me with this I would be very appreciative and if I can I would try and return the favor. Cheers Josh
I saw that the other day as well. Can't wait to see what they do with it. A lot of people think they're going to re-release the Air Mag with power laces. So we'll finally get the actual shoe plus the working power laces this time around. Either way I'm excited to see what they do.
I still think i'm a bit queer on collecting Oakley shoes. 40 odd pairs and counting, have worn them at least once. Some only come out rarely(Shoeone's)
I saw the Lebron James 11 "Graffiti" for the first time yesterday, and what a fantastic shoe! No pics I've seen so far do it justice, since it doesn't show the angles or the contrast of the red logo with the black splatter on white background. Even I was considering the purchase after seeing it. Turns out you can make even crazier colours with NIKEiD.
Both my sons have these. They LOVE them, the color-way and the shoe itself. They have the away color-way as well and really liked those but they like these better. Yes, they're on their second pair of Lebron 11's already. They wear them to school as their good shoes but even at school shoes can get beat.
The kings pride are still my favorite lebron 11. The shoe has so much potential but I just don't understand who comes up with the colorways they release.
King's Pride is a nice color-way. I like the Anthracite that was just released, the Terracotta Warriors too. I agree with you though - some of the color-ways are a bit mind boggling.
