This is my first pair of Oakleys and overall I am fairly satisfied. I'm asian and they fit fairly well although I would recommend the titanium frame as I do find these glasses a tad heavy (however, I do admit that I am not sure how much lighter the titanium frames ar compared to the C-5 alloy.) I am very picky when it comes to choosing glasses because I am not flashy and I like wraps. The style provides ample coverage from the sun. The glasses are solid and my friends have commented on how sturdy they feel.

Even though I find the frame a bit heavy, I made the choice to get them and have no regrets - except that I wanted the polarized lens....:)

These glasses are fantastic! At thirty-three, I am becoming more conservative when it comes to accessorizing. These glasses definitely add style without being too flashy. They fit my medium-sized face like a glove, providing excellent eye coverage and nearly no light leakage. The lenses are large enough to allow the frame to be a minimal distraction in my line of sight, making these great driving glasses, and the distortion-free polarized lenses are a must here in Florida. The weight of these Spikes is surprisingly light despite their size, meaning I can wear them during long drives without discomfort. For that reason alone, the extra cost of the titanium frame seems worth it. They are by far the most expensive sunglasses I have ever purchased and took some saving for, but I highly recommend them for anyone considering investing in a high-end pair of shades.

These are just great!Since we all require a pair that fits with suits etc,I think that this the way to go.Although their orbitals do belong to a clearly fashion oriented design, the shape of the large, rounder at the corners lenses, remind of past classic thoroubred oakleys. This is a fashion oriented model unlike any other. One thing however that I was skeptical with,is their fit.I had experiences in the past with crosshairs that squeezed a lot,but these didn't let me down. They fit tight and comfortable, and I haven't had any problems even after many hours with these on.The coverage is good, and although they are heavy it just doesn't show when you're wearing them. It's still weird to own a wire,(if these can be classified as such),with a whole lotta material on them, specially when my perception of the wires until recently was the wiretap and the why.Still they're great, and it's a good alternative when formal outfit is necessary.

A tough looking pair of glasses. They have a "I mean business" approach. I was hesitant at first because I usually stuck to O Matter frames this was my first wire frame. I got the titanium because it was a day and night diffence versus the normal pair. Only wish that they came polarized too.

Top notch Oakley quality. They fee extremely solid and "hug" the head without pinching or pressure. The styling is slightly vanilla - they don't scream "OAKLEY" like some other frames, so if you want somthing more distinctive these might not be for you. Pretty versatile shades, not quite dressy enough to wear to match a suit & tie but they'll work in a pinch. The weight didn't bother me at all.

They're pretty big frames. The fit was good but not great. Perhaps I should have tried the Asian fit b/c the bottoms touched my cheekbones if I moved my face in certain ways.

The lenses, of course, are awesome. Oakley's Black Iridium Polarized are my lenses of choice - I've had 3 pairs of Oakleys with them. So, in my opinion, these are perfect in this department.

My favorite Oakleys out of my collection. Just look so sleek and classy. The chrome/vr28 black iridium combination is definitely an eye catcher; I get so many compliments when I wear them. They look just about as "Oakley" as possible. One small thing to note is that the frames are fairly heavy, so choose accordingly. Overall, a great pair of shades for just about any occasion.

I like the glasses. Always did like the style and the way they look. Ti frame is always sexy and does cut some weight. My major problem with these are the maintenance.
1st: The earstems get all floppy pretty often. I tightened them a few time for short term remedy but it never lasts.
2nd: the earstem close all the way to the lens, causing scratches. I have to keep a micro-bag against the inside of the lens before closing and storing to avoid scratching the lens.
3rd: if you close it a certain way to avaoid contact with the lens, you end up scratching the earstems themselves.
Really like these but wear them the least due to the extra babying I have to do to keep them crispy. I expected more for $200+.

Excellent. Frames are very solid and despite some of the reviews didn't bother me even after 4 hours of continuous wear. They are heavy enough not to forget you're wearing them, but not cumbersome. As these are technically wires, adjusting them to my head (especially the nose thingy) was no trouble at all. The overall style is so distinct and so natural at the same time. And the lens are excellent.

With probably the thickest frames in the wire lineup, the Spike combines unique styling with typical Oakley elements. The earstems truly set this pair apart, with the icon flanked by "rivets" at the four corners. Sleek and stylish, these shades also provide excellent coverage, but are only for those with larger faces. The true issue lies in the fact that the frames are extremely heavy. In fact, the titanium-frame versions were really the only two that seemed wearable for long periods of time. Perhaps Spike should have been made of o-matter instead.

I tried the C5 frames on at the O store and thought "these are pretty sweet, but way too heavy". After reading some reviews I took a leap and bought a Ti pair sight unseen. Money well spent. The Ti is totaly worth it, nice and light. The overall look is stylish and modern with some cool little details around the icons, but not exactly a conversation piece. I mostly like these for functional reasons. They are light, comfortable, great lens coverage, and being wires I was able to tweek the nose bombs for a perfect, tight fit. Now to get a Ti on Ti pair to match my Icon watch...

Edit: The day after I wrote this review, I wore these on a sunny sunday and got quite a few random compliments throughout the day, nice..

these are my 5th pair of oakley optics.. been very happy with the jack knifes, square wires, awire and now these spikes, fit for me is good, with a slim euro face/larger cranium, no pain issues for me even after several hours wear.. nice and light, heavier than standard square/a wires even 4 years after their release still look good plus got em cheap less than 100 australian dollars - for people with hinge/quality issues check they're legit oakleys... sounds really suss for oakley quality.

It looks good! Thats just about it! The frame is painful to wear for a long time and the damn lens has started to show hairline cracks after only 2 months of use. I've been asking the local distributor to replace it beacuse of the hairline cracks but the only answer I've been receiving is the lens is not in stock. What gives? I'm very disappointed. The only reason it got a star is because it looks good....otherwise I'm very tempted to give it a ZERO!

These guys are mean. These are my "sophisticated look" glasses. They are my favorite out of the Wire collection, maybe because they seem to be the only ones that fit my fat face. The fit is just a hair tight but not to a point where I can't wear them. I can describe it as a good snug fit. I could last all day with these on. They do leave a small imprint on your nose. I help that by raising them upward and gently placing them back on my nose. Once i do that, it won't leave big imprints. The weight isnt too much of a problem. You can feel them all day but its all good. Field of vision is wide not as much as maybe the hijinx but its just enough to get the job done. Titanium Iridium makes averything brighter/Brown butatthe same time is as dark as Black Iridium. Wierd hu? Grey lens Seems to be turning ever so slightly blue on me. They have been used many times. I wear grey when there isnt too much sun.

Upon first seeing and trying on these frames at my local O store I knew I had to have them. However after now owning them for a few weeks I am having some serious regrets about shelling out the cash for these. For me the frame is a bit too heavy and uncomfortable for wear beyond a couple hours. Though they are very secure, the earstems and nosepads pinch significantly on my medium sized face. I have also experienced annoying amounts of light entering through the sides and nose opening (which no adjustment can fix). It is not very bothersome in normal light conditions but is quite an annoyance on my morning drive in the glaring sun. For this reason i have gone back to my gascans for this purpose. All in all these glasses are very sturdy and killer looking however they are far too uncomfortable and dont provide the coverage i was looking for.

I'm very picky when it comes to buying sun glass. I have high cheek bones which makes most large lens frames look off, but the first time I tried on the Light frames I thought "These are the one." Thankfully I didn't buy that day but checked Oakley's site when I got home and saw the came in the lighter Titan frame.

After trying both frames on at the Oakley store I ponied up the cash for the Titans because they are much lighter.

I love the contrast of the titanium lens gives and the golden glow just makes you feel "cool".

The fit is amazing. I wear them all day and they never bother me or need adjusting to be comfortable. They give great coverage with the only exception is the downward view which doesn't bother me because the extra space keeps them from coming in contact with my cheeks while smiling.

I love their design you can tell a lot of thought was put in to make sure every angle was just right.

I haven't had any of the problems others have had my ear stems don't touch the lenses and there is no metal to metal contact. If you're having these type of issue I would get them tighten.

These are my favorite sunglasses. They have a unique edge to them and are definitely fashion forward, but if you get them the extra price for the Titans is worth it.

I went to an Oakley store and tried on pretty much everything, and these are the best for me. They are more functional than most of the Square O's but still look just as cool. They fit me amazingly and I love the fact that they mix Wire and O Matter design elements so perfectly. Also, the lenses offer great protection while not being overly dark like a pair of Ray-Bans I had (as you know, Oakley owns Ray-Ban). They are great all-around shades and if you're undecided on which shades to get, try them on because they rock.

This model is great. I love how it fits & the way it looks. It's a frame that I don't consider too big or too small. Especially w/ the titanium frame. which adds frosting on the cake. Making it not only a great looking frame, but a light one as well. I give it 5 skulls.

I'm going to agree with many people here. The earstems/nose pinching and the arm hitting the lens. Since I always take my sunglasses a bit fast from my face, it always happens. These two aspects make me take a skull off.

But... the design is awesome. For me it's quite "rock star". It's also my first polarized sunglasses, and it makes you wonder how could you live without these kind of lenses. Black iridium still gives you a bright image but is absolutely confortable, also because of the lens coverage. I just bought a Hatchet with ordinary Black Iridium lenses, and I'm looking forward to compare them.

Awesome glasses! Excellent lens quality and they look awesome.Paid £160 from ten-eighty for them. When I first put them on after about 3 hours the arms hurt the sides of my head but fitted me like a glove! I had to take them off for a few minutes and put them on again and they were fine. The arms loosened up in time but now both the fangs of both ear stems touch both lenses when folded and the right hand arm seems bent. The fang of the right hand ear stem touches the top of the middle of the left lens and this has caused a hairline marking at the top middle part edge of the lens! The stems flap around now has if loose. Has anyone come across this problem. I cant imagine that both stems should touch the lenses when the arms are folded and I cant imagine that both the arms should flap loosely. Is this normal? I purchased these from ten-eighty and they said that I could send them back to Oakley and if they do nothing then ten-eighty said they would fully reimburse me so I have no worries. I will do this around November time when I don't need them so much but aprt from that they are amazing glasses.

I had no intention of getting a Spike before but I tried it on one time and it grew on me. I love this color combo, the Titanium lens is awesome. It's a trendy look, not usually what I look for but it also has an aggressive edge to it that sold me to get one. Eye coverage is good, but could be better(I think it's the shape of my face, not the glasses), and pretty light weight. You can wear it for rugged or casual attire.

Very nice pair of glasses. Good coverage and an excellent fit. A bit heavy for all day use, but that is why there is a Ti/Ti version, which I will add as soon as possible. A very good overall fashion frame.

If you want a simple but attractive metal frame, these are a fine choice. They're much thicker than the traditional wire frame but that doesn't seem to weight them down too much, as they're still a decently comfortable fit. Think bulky aviator types in both wear and style.

Great looking glasses! Titanium frame is so light compared to the C5 alloy. Titanium iridium is the best lens ever. Blocks out the light but good enough even for indoors. Ideal for big heads like me and the large lens provide great coverage. Only problem is that the bottom of the frame touches my cheeks. The problem can be solved by adjusting the nose pads but this just brings me to the next problem. Conventional nose pads on Oakley Spikes that are supposed to"....set a new standard that turns its back on the uninspired.....didn’t design it to make an enemy of mediocrity." ??? C'mon u guys at oakley can do better than conventional nose pads!!! Half a skull off for each "problem". Overall still a very respectable 4 skulls.

Unlike most people, I felt like the non Ti Spikes were pretty light weight. When I tried these Ti frames on I was blown away. They are extremely light weight to wear, I'm talking feather weight here. It really added to the comfort of the frame. The Ti iridium is also an awesome lens to have. Eye coverage is excellent as well. The high price for these Ti Spikes is well worth it.

Awesome pair of glasses, they have good weight to them for a quality feel, and are very modern looking.Only problem I can see with them is that the lenses come up to your eyebrows so you get the occasional smudge but it's all good. All in all, very nice piece to add to your collection, stylish and a quality product, definetly a must have.

As good a pair of sunglasses as you could expect to find. The frame is feather-light and the Ti Iridium is one of the best lenses Oakley has ever released. The Spike is a fashion-forward design and if that's what you like, the Ti Spike is simply the best Spike they make.
Plan-B -
Frame: Titanium
Lens: Titanium Iridium

Pro: Feather light. Large lens gives excellent coverage.
Con: Base tint makes it look smoggy all the time. Major earstem design flaw.

I like the way these look on my face, but I don't really care for the look through the lens. I know that Ti Iridium is one of the favorites on this forum, but I just can't seem to see the attraction. Yes, the contrast is enhanced, but if I really wanted that much contrast enhancement, I'd wear my Half Jackets and put the G30 lenses on. The base tint makes it look like the sky is smoggy and hazy all the time. It also makes it look like it's much later in the afternoon than it is. These two negatives outweigh the positive in my opinion.

On the plus side, they're wicked light if you're willing to spring for the Ti/Ti combo. I had them sitting on my desk and they caught a co-worker's eye and he was amazed at how little they weighed. I could potentially wear them all day and not realize they're even on, that is until I realize that I'm not in L.A. during the worst "spare the air" day ever.

There's also a major design flaw in the Ti frame. When the earstems are folded in, one of the "fangs" touches the inside of the lens. I have to fold in the one labeled "Titanium" first since that hinge doesn't let the "fang" reach the lens. Then there's the issue of metal-to-metal contact. These are the only Oakleys I have that I wouldn't rate as Mint because they're all marred up from the earstems rubbing against each other while folded up.

I'm tempted to give them a 2, but the style and weight bump it up to a 3.

Great coverage and fit...the mirror of the titanium is beautiful from the outside and comfortable inside. It even hides your eyes! my only gripe is the earstems pinch a little bit and the weight might wear on you after wearing them for a few hours.

Wow - these things rock....When I first tried these frames I did not like them - but the look grew on me. I have to say that these have became a favoriteof mine. Solid construction with stunning design. Had the GC first just because I wanted the gradient lens for the Thump 2. But loved the GC so much I had to have these. Vey stylish but also very heavy. "Comfortable fit" Not sure about that. As previously said they pinch the nose. I swapped the nose pices for OO nose pieces to distribute the weight more. I have the Titanium version which is far lighter, which has chunkier nose pieces. Pity these didn't come with them. All that said, I'll Still wear them

easily one of the most gorgeous pair of oakleys in years but it devastates me to say i cant wear these. they look great on me but feel so heavy and pinch my nose and the back of my head, i have tried bending the earstems out but it hasnt made alot of difference. im gonna try and have them adjusted at the front. it is such a shame cos i love the look of them.

Outstanding glasses right here. I cant get enough of these. I used them to shoot trap and they were fantastic, I used them to drive at dusk and they were fantastic, and I used them during the bright day and they were fantastic. Great coverege, even peripheral. Only 2 problems. 1. It sat too high on my nose when I first got them, but after moving the nose-pieces, they fit like a dream. and 2. They pinch a little too hard on my head at the end of the earstem, cause a small pain after about 5 hours of wearing. I took them off for about 5 minutes and put them back on and I was fine. Get a pair, youll love them.

These are some seriosuly beuatiful sunglasses. They are nothing like Oakley has ever made before, but they are Oakley through and through. They are slightly similar to the Riddle, but very different as well.

They fit perfect. The lenses sit flush to both sides of the frame, which makes them look sweet.

I'm taking a star off because the arms are a bit thin, which makes them look a bit 'underweight', but looks are deceiving because they are really sturdy glasses.

If you want sporty, over the top Oakleys, go buy a Plate or Splice. If you want a beautiful, stylish pair of sunglasses, the Spike is perfect.

Although I freely admit that the front-view styling is a bit bland, the overall look is great for the Spike. The earstems are awesome, the accents aroud the icon are great touches. Comfortable fit and great field of vision. The difference-maker for me on the Spike is getting an Iridium lens ... makes it much better since the lens is pretty large.

Love 'em. Not sure how these can seem cheap to some people. I find the fit and finish up to Oakley standards. I have let a few people try them on and they seem to look great on a variety of faces. I can tell that my wife has her eye on mine so I might have to snag her a pair of her own very soon. I will definitely be getting a few more pairs of these. They are fashionable, but they are edgy too.
