Awesome scene with the Romeos. Its too bad it was Tom Cruise who was in it. Luckily, the Oakleys saved the scene.

I embarrassed my wife in the movie when I basically screamed "I have those" when he was climbing with the Romeo's. Probably the only time Tom Cruise looked cool in my eyes.

Dann... they also differ by having TV monitors in them playing back video footage, speakers and have C4 plastic explosive and a timer :)

I loved this movie cause of the build up to the finale...

I never noticed the other Oakleys Tom may have used as I am an X-Metal fan...

somebody commented that in the motorcycle-scene he wore a black fives, that is actually incorrect , it was a TEN , look close for the bigger earstems. the scene was however very good

It's a cool movie, and one that'll always be remembered for the self-destructing Romeo scene. Very good.

Great movie. One of the most memorable for me. That was one hell of a product placement with the Romeo, and it's part of the reason why the X-metal lineup is so popular today. I hope they make M:I-3 soon, though; it's been 5 years since M:I-2

Just watched this movie again, man it sucks compared to the 1st one.
as the dudes are jumping out of the plane at the start of the movie I swear I saw Black/clear A-Frame Goggles.

someone told me that oakley's been working on the new thump since the modified romeo made its appearance in MI:2. i do see the resemblance.

Did you notice the screws connecting the ear stems to the frame are sticking out?? And the arms are SUPER loose when he's moving the glasses around? Weird that someone on the production would deliberately loosen the ear stems.

I really thought the Romeos looked stupid when I was M:I-2, and I still think they look stupid on tom cruise. someone with a bigger head could pull it off maybe, but not him. Also I'm not a huge fan of Romeos but that's no secret

I got this movie for Christmas one year and after watching it once, it got shelved and never touched again. However after finding out Tom Cruise plugs the Romeo when it first came out, I popped it back in and then ended up watching it all over again due to nothing better to do. They are used in the place of the usual computer that give the mission brief and then explodes (Real Romeo's would never break down. At least not with the amount of explosive that would still be safe by just throwing the glasses away from you).

The Romeo's are a little different than the retail versions (as with most models making movie debuts). They have straight ear stems rather than the 'hammer' design, and are equipped with an internal microphone.
