Compared to the H.I. Blue, these are a slightly darker to look through, but they're visually more arresting from the outside. An excellent low light lens. These are a great choice if the yellow lenses are a bit much.
they make you instantly happier when you look through them, they just light everything up and add colour
I have the H.I. Persimmon on my Radars. I use them for playing beach volleyball and they really brighten up and add contrast to those dark, cloudy, overcast days. They really are amazing lenses! Like someone else said, everything looks so dull and gloomy after taking these off. They won't prevent anyone from seeing your eyes so don't get them if that matters to you. If, however, you want something for those low light conditions then these lenses are for you!
It's been said and done, these lens are suitable for low light and just sharp looking lens and i don't use it that much since they are no longer available for my splice.
I have used Persimmon lenses for shooting for years, and just got some Radars with H.I. Persimmon. It's nothing but an improvement, the iridium coating helps cut glare and seems to improve contrast slightly as well. It's also great for driving on overcast days, where the improved contrast really shines.
HOLY CRAP! These things will brighten up your day. A good safety glass lens and good for very flat light. They do exactly what they're supposed to do.
Makes everything look sharper and brighter. Love to look at the greenery with this lens. It makes them very lustrous. My only problem is when you take off the glass. Everything looks so dull thereafter.
I have it on with my path. Excellent for overcast condition.
Good shooting lens, especially for military style rifle ranges where the targets are either green or white.
I've got these in a pair of Half Jackets. Great for overcast, indoor and outdoor, I even wear them at night in restaurants. The glasses just look great. One thing they are not good for is a bright day. I made the mistake of riding my motorcycle with these on a bright day...wrong choice. Love these lenses.
This is a very bright contrast lens. It also shade a bit better than the ordinary Persimmon when the sunlight appears between clouds. After a few minutes one get used to the orangeness from inside and just experience a good sight.
Just got this gorgeous lens for my Radars. It's a very functional and versatile lens and a strong recommendation particularly for use in cloudy and low light conditions. Works pretty well even at night too I must say. And I just love the classy touch of the blue iridium tint on it,a lot sexier that the regular Persimmon IMO. 5 Skulls all the way!
A lens that works surprisingly good even when the sun comes out. Perfect for all flat light conditions, I can wear them even when it's nearly dark. Perfect contrast and depth perception enhancement.
Part of the thrill of owning these lenses is their exclusivity. Very few models offer the HI Persimmon lens, and it is not only a beauty to behold - it also intensifies light for darker/overcast conditions. My first pair arrived in the Night Camo/HI Persimmon Vented Sweep M Frame configuration, and trying them on brightened the environment considerably. In short, they are a true testament to Oakley's "Mad Science" paradigm. Do what must be done to add these lenses to your collection.
Just got my first pair of glasses equipped witht hese lens and I absolutely love them. Not only are they aestheticlly pleasing, but they are also great to look through. Gives everything an orangish-red sort of hue and they do not produce any ghosting. Depending how the light hits them they can look blue, purple, orange, red, or pink. They look absolutely amazing. They are supposed to be suited for low-light conditions, but I wore them on a sunny Florida day and they were just great for protection, and my eyes are sensitive to the sun. I must have more glasses with these lenses.
When I first saw the HI Persimmons, I was skeptical that a 59% transmission lens would make things appear brighter. After actually wearing these lenses during those grey, cloudy, and blah days, I changed my mind. They DO make everything appear brighter. Looking through the lenses, especially on a cloudy day, there is a slight orange hue to everything - as if the sun was shining. I would not wear it at night though - you're better off with clear lenses. Also, its very aesthetically pleasing to look at.
These are awesome lens options. I tried these in my Half Jackets and they are great for the day and also at night. I prefer to use these in overcast conditions.
I have these in the Murasaki Sports Splice. They are definitely unique but I haven't got much wear out of them since they are so suited to low light. I fear what would become of me if I was stranded in a bright, sunny day with just this lens for protection. It is a great indoor lens as mentioned in the other reviews. It is not suited for daily use, but it is something quite out of the ordinary and in this recent phase of Black, Grey, Dark Grey, and Warm Greys - it is nice to have a fun alternative.
This is a damn sexy lens. I love the Persimmon in the first place but then you put a Blue Iridium sheen on there & they are lustful! There's just nothing better than these for overcast days!
Just picked up the Japanese Exclusive Splice, and this lens is awesome. My new favorite for sure.
The contrast is intense that it's like it actually makes things BRIGHTER rather than filtering out light. The Blue Iridium coating on the persimmon base, adds a really cool looking effect, when seen at the right angle. These are awesome for nighttime or really overcast days, or even indoors. I don't want to take these lenses off.
Great for overcast days, haze, or even light fog conditions. The orange tint has a way of cutting through haze and improving contrast and depth perception. Filters a little more light than HI Blue, so it will still work even under somewhat brighter conditions.
gorgeous lens, ive always wanted it since trying out on some oakley goggles, but saldy cos i cant wear the goggles i finally got this lens on the splices.
it is basically persimmon with a blue coating, you get a nicer more orange contrast than the one oyu get with normal persimmon.
this is one of the best skiing lenses you can get.
Just got these on my Splice's, and they're very cool. They brighten everything up like HI Blue, but with half the light transmission. Not to mention they look pretty cool from the outside. You can see right through, since the iridium doesn't create as much mirror effect on low light lenses.
These are the best night lenses there is. I use it at work as a protective eyewear working graves at a biotech manufacturing plant. I get plenty of comps and keeps me up all night because it's pleasant to the eyes with the light transmission that penetrates thru.
perfect for nighttime and low light conditions. can also substitute for safety glasses if ur cutting other custom lenses for ur juliets
