The Revolver gets replicated pretty closely yet again, only this time it's a 3D print:

Well, this is an interesting one. A guy in Utah machined his own Revolver ring (in aluminum instead of Ti). His words:

"I collaborated with Matt Tremblay of Rogue DZN and was given special permission to create my own version of his Revolver Ring. I found and was inspired by the Revolver on the internet close to a year ago and have gone through extensive processes with multiple different softwares in an attempt to better my CNC machining skills as well as 3D Solid design skills. Being a machinist and having access to the CNC machines necessary to create such a work of art, I was motivated to build instead of buy my own ring. Matt has been very helpful and encouraging of my work as I have spoken with him throughout the year."

Looks like Trevor has been busy this past year working on his own shop.

Yep, saw that a while ago. Seems interesting, his take on modular design, but it doesn't seem fancy or intricate enough a design to warrant such engineering.

I wonder what kinds of things float around fhr for such occasions. I mean I've seen the exclusive trophies and such, but I bet there's a lot of cool one-off stuff.

There's a lot of cool stuff made down there. Lots of creative people that put effort into side projects. That said, this ring seems to be an outside-of-work project an employee did for himself as a commemoration rather than something done for Oakley.

RDZN Crippler:

It's interesting to note that it's machined SS rather than Ti. Matt was saying he wanted more affordable pieces, so that's a good compromise.

20 tools on your wrist
- Dann

Almost a year later, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered one of these Leatherman Tread in black. Just arrived last night, and one of the more interesting processes was deciding which link/tools to remove to fit my wrist.

Some initial impressions:
- Pretty impressed with the comfort.
- It's pretty hefty.

I am almost certain the most heavily used tool on this thing will be the little box cutter. It will surely double the enjoyment from every Amazon delivery moving forward. Past that, I'm not fooling myself in thinking how little all these other tools will be used on a frequent basis. But with the Tread just lingering in my head since January, it turned into a must have for me.

Ugh, I think I really need one now. No more excuses.

I love how it's named after the working title for the Time Tank. Hey if Oakley doesn't want to use the name....

Thanks guys. A few pics for you, Rich. The beginning and end of my hand-modeling career. Additional gratuitous plug for the RDZ Revolver. :)
