It would be nice to see Oakley step-up the QC and maintain a higher level of consistency with both Ruby (being darker red) and Fire (being a blaze orange).

It most certainly would be but can you see that happening.......?

Check out the picture of my Rubies in my collection. I waded through several pairs to get this one. They're absolutely stunning.

Okay, the picture I was hoping to link to in my last post didn't. Can someone re-enlighten me about how to post a picture in a forum? I'm not seeing a "post image" button...

There we go, it only took 7 attempts at "formatting" the url...

It's got to be hosted off-site somewhere (or from your collections pic).

Then use the "" tag after, no spaces.

They are sweet. Essentially the Juliet's evolution. It blows mind how thin the stems get from hinge to earsock though. Even thinner than the Romeo 2.0 managed. When you see them in person it's almost scary, like Whisker thin. As for fit, it is a larger lens, but no wider. Really, by making the lens so square it looks much larger than a comparable round lens. Should fit most who wore the Juliet. I was never able to wear the XX, so if the Juliet was too small for you and the XX wasn't, I suggest trying these first.

One design wish I have though is the orbital bolts face outward away from the frame giving it more of a shared look with the Pit Boss. I wish that they still faced inward with a larger intake area more reminiscent of the Juliet and XX. Still bad ass with the subtle protrusions in the brow and design of the intake though.

Regarding fit: They were really tight, tighter than Juliets, but it you take out the temple shocks, they fit looser than a Juliet with the shocks out...

Yeah that's cuz the temple shox are getting thinner towards the orbital, creating an angle...so when you take them out, you're widening them way out!

I'm lucky I got no loose lenses
And my nose flex couplers are even flexibility

Wonderful new frame color
Super comfortable lenses

I'm happy!

Polished Carbon has got to be THE greatest X-Metal frame color IMO - looks fantastic with every lens color.

Congratulations on your latest additions, Ian and Freesh!

carbon is a very nice look, the reasons I prefer x-metal though is that it's uniquely Oakley and the texture when you handle them feels almost like a ceramic mantle, until you leave them in the sun somewhere then put them on your face, then the stinging sensation reminds you very quickly that they're metal lol

The polished frames look pretty good. They'd look great with some Ice lenses I imagine!

Gotta make my next pair some X Squared!

The Ruby lenses in this thread look awesome

I'd imagine they would as well, same as the Plasma would look nice with the VR28 Black in it. I pretty much went polished for said lens, but would love to have that lens in Plasma or X-Metal.

The VR28 lenses would also look good in the Carbon too.

Be good when they hit custom!

not abnormal these days to have a falw in the lens in the box new. I have had them arrive with bumps where there was dust or small particles on the lens at time of coating (or what appeared to look that way), small scratches, etc. The QAC isn't quite up to par with how it used to be. Maybe that will be tightening up in the future...One can hope. Hopefully you didn't pay close to retail and that can help justify the discount.

I think it has to do with the polarized process because that is where i see it most
