What - in your opinion - is the most awesome pair of classic O that never really caught on and never really sold?

The Switch. Though their defect was a good reason why it didn't sell, it was still a cool pair.

In terms of colourway specific, it's tragic the Brown Juliet never sold. I find it a really nice frame colour for the Juliet, and I'm not a big fan of the colour brown in general.

That's a hard question, but I'd go with Travis. The Plate is really a great pair but his extreme design certainly refrain a lot of people to get them.

The M Frames. IMO they were one of the greatest pairs Oakley ever made, and revolutionary for their time. Too bad they hardly sold in their 20 or so years of existence...

On a serious note, however, I'd have to agree with everyone's responses so far. The Plate, Hatchet, Switch, and Unknown were all really cool pairs, each for their own reasons. Personally, I always liked the Scar, even though they sold poorly at retail. Incorporating a new design concept at the time (combining X-Metal with O-matter) along with CAD/CAM design elements and a wide range of color options made this pair a winner in my eyes.

I have to agree with the Switch.

The dark carbide version was amazing.

The lenses were near enough completely recessed into the well of the orbitals, the flex coupler matched with the very square and agressive design (pre gascan) made it the single most amazing pair of Oakleys I have ever seen.

Unfortunately, because I am a user rather than a collector, by the time I had the cash to buy them I knew about the ceramic coating issue and wouldnt pay for something which would probably fall apart on me (exaggeration I know but but you get what I mean)

I know that an x metal version would be too heavy but I assume an o-luminum version would be just the ticket. Kinda ticks all the "square" boxes as well.

Hell, I would even drop the cash for an OMatter version if it was available (in matte of course)

Thats it, my ode to the Switch.

The greatest Oakley that (in my case) never was.

I have two pairs that I've only ever seen twice: Straight Jacket and Trenchcoat, both in Pearl/Black Iridium. I've always had a soft spot for these particular glasses, and if they were re-released today, with the fad/fashion of both white and large lenses, I'm sure they both become best-sellers. Just 10 years before their time. Regarding M-Frames, all-time Oakley best. Fit, function, perfection. The only problem was that they weren't the most attractive. I've loved every pair that I've owned.

Overall, I think a lot of pairs from the 2001-2004 era are overlooked. Oakley was on the top of their game back then design-wise and practically everything they released was jaw-dropping. But even cool stuff (some of which have been already mentioned) tended to be overlooked when everything around it was even cooler, even just slightly.

I love the Switch, and hope to own at least one pair someday. The Plate is on this list as well IMO. I dig the crazy looks I get when I wear them :^) Much love for the Hatchet as well, I'm only 2 colorways away from having the whole collection.

I don't know if they'd be considered classic-O, but probably my favorite frame (in the top 3 anyway) that doesn't seem to get much love and I never see out and about, is the Warden. They are the best take on an aviator ever IMO.

I always loved the Moons but never seen anyone wearing them. Too frail maybe. Also I can't say that I ever sen anyone wearing the 0.3 when it was for sale now it's one of the most sought after pair. Strange how things change

With me being from the small O area that I am. The plate sold good here, but the dartboard seemed to fade out fast. I am still looking for a pair because I think they are awesome.
