Phil, I love the WRX transformer with the WRC paint scheme. Is it the die-cast one from Japan, or the plastic one?

Of newer stuff (mid-90's on), I have a lot of X-men figures and a bunch of Battlebots toys that I got when I worked there. I have the El Diablo figure signed by the whole crew. I have parts of some bots too. Like this one:

Most of the ID cards used in Season 3-5, and of course my robot is sitting out in my back shed.

Plastic one form the states. I can't be dropping what some online stores are asking for the Japnese ones. Even the Prime is the 20th Ann US version. Still has Diecast parts though.

I never had Prime as a child so that's what justified the price of the one I have now.

Here's a better shot

WOW... talk about cartoon nostalgia! i have a complete set of Voltron 1 (15 pieces) in large scale plastic models hidden somewhere at home. i also have a few MASK items, IIRC i have Volcano, Shark, the motorcycle with the sidecar (i know it was VENOM, but forgot the name), the Pontiac GTO one, and the orange pickup truck... it's been so long, i don't remember the names at all.

i totally forgot i have all this junk until this thread. there was a time when the concept of money was alien to me, and now how i feel for my parents for spending a ridiculous amount of money on this stuff. we hardly had money back then, and the only way my mom would agree to get toys was for me to get good grades.

Bong, I just got a pair of Shure e2's delivered last week. I like em slightly better than the sony fontopia's, even though they aren't as comfortable. do you use them?

I'm using the Grado SR60s right now - absolutely amazing value, and great sound regardless of the cost. Only thing is they aren't great for travel.
Hey Bong - you ever see the Sennheiser Orpheus? Only $12,000 for a pair and the tube amp comes with 'em (and you thought Oakley was expensive)

hey Brian... i love my Shure E2's; although i havn't used them this winter... i've been using my Sony MDR-D66sl eggo headphones, they double as earmuffs! but anyway... the E2's have great sound quality for its price, good bass response (if just a tad on the muddy side), sweet midrange, but treble is slightly recessed, resulting in a smooth overall presentation if not too detailed. all is good for portable listening, with the added plus of sound isolation; and works great on most portable machines. they're easy to drive even with low-power headphone amps that appear in lower budget portable machines. if you like the Shure E2's, you should try the Etymotic ER4P's... super detailed, super sweet midrange, and the most accurate bass response i've ever heard. all for about $250. ^_^

hey EC... i agree that the Grado SR60's are the ABSOLUTE best value in standard open headphones today. they are worth every penny for the $69 that Grado charges. these headphones are highly enjoyable, with some great soundstage and imaging as well... something a lot of headphones cannot do. the only downside to the SR60 (and all other Grado headphones for that matter) is they are an open design... which means sound will easily leak out and ambient noise will leak into your music. not too good for listening on the train. i guess it's okay for walking out and about though... they are also fairly easy to drive from most portable machines too.

and yeah... i saw the Sennheiser Orpheus last year at a trade show. i didn't even dare go near it, lest i sample a pair and then decide that i must have it. right now i'm quite happy with my Etymotic ER4P's.

No, I sadly don't have any of my Joes. I can't even recall where they went. I can do Prime up as the truck and post pics some point this week. He doesn't have a trailer. I guess they just didn't figure it was necessary

When I was a kid He_man was the big thing. I collected all of the figures (or rather my parents did). I had a ton of them and got all the vehicles and set pieces as well. Then the film came out and although that was pretty cool, the figures changed a bit. Then the new cartoon version came out. I got the starship eternia and some of the figures but they had become too nineties/polished. After that the Atari Lynx became the new scourge of my perents bank balance. I managed to collect about just over 70 games (about 90 including doubles) It beat the living bejeezus out of the game boy and game gear. Shame atari were crap at marketing.

On the subject of he-man, does anyone else think this figure looks like Michael Jackson?

I recently took inventory of my current "collecting" hobbies. I should cut down on the list sooner or later. At least before I could qualify to be on "Hoarders" anyway. More or less in the order of current interest:

1. Comics/Hardcover books, graphic novels
2. Sideshow, lifesize statues/busts, and other assorted statues of different scales
3. Oakley
4. Other sunglasses
5. Prop replicas
6. Apple products
7. Transformers
8. Fine vintage Watches
9. Video games
10. Steelbooks/Blu-Ray
11. Other assorted toys (X-men, Batman, Nerf, etc.)
12. Belstaff jackets
13. T-shirts
14. Starbucks mugs
15. Coins
16. Pixar
17. Fighter-issued MMA Gloves
18. Starting to have a budding interest in cast iron skillets for some reason

Nice! Being from PA, I'll bet your dad has a number of Griswold stuff bouncing around. I love that stuff. Their vintage stuff is amazing, which is why they're so collectible and, unfortunately for me, expensive.

All he buys is Griswold. He has one of each size, several of most and lots of various cake pans and bread pans and molds and you name it. I do not remember all the details but I know the age depends on the design of the logo. Being in PA he finds them a lot at antique stores and public auctions.

Damn Oak, you are quite a pack rat collector. You collect about everything.

I only have a couple

Oakley
Shoes
Knives
Guns (this is a slower process) I am very picky on the firearms I buy. I only have a few right now.

i used to collect nike trainers and clarice cliff art deco pottery-sold all of these last year to fund my wedding....

now its just oakley stuff and i dont know why but a tiny voice in my head keeps telling me to sell this too....why?-dont know i love what i have but equally i look at how much value it has and i think it wont go to anyone when im gone and whilst i have the chance it would be good to pass it on to other collectors.......

i think about it then i dont.....i went through this in 2006 and francois managed to persuade me against it.....whats up with that!!
