I was wondering what everyone uses as a display case, other than a dedicated Oakley case.

Is there an "off the shelf" model that could hold a dozen that could be recommended? Thanks for your suggestions!

I think Ikea might be the general winner of display options for you. Myself and a couple others here have used a wall-mounted display. It's tall and narrow, with 10 shelves, would pretty easily hold about 40 pairs.

That is the DVD wall mount isn't it? The one you are referring to Paul? They have some very versatile pieces at Ikea for sure...

Thanks again guys. We picked up a few of the ikea cases. $69 each. Two for my home and my kid got one for his new apartment away at college.

Now if you wanna take it a step farther, I use the same Ikea case but custom cut aluminum angle irons from Lowe's/Home Depot and with a few bolts and tacks you get this:

Then get some custom acrylic risers cut and you get double the space.

Make your own. Take your time, have fun. Its a little like Richard Dreyfuss in Close encounters building Devil's tower, but it was relaxing for me to do, and most people dont even realize its not the real thing. I'm in the process of building a full-wall bookshelf in my office. It will be faced in Oak and stained dark, but will be finished with Oakley-style aluminum rivets. I will post pics while it is under construction. -Bill O, copilot 09
