Is anyone going to this today? If no one has heard, I saw it posted in another forum, but theres this event going on in LA today, and there will only be 20 made and sold at the event.
And if you do go, please take pics of the show they're putting on. I'd love to see what classic pieces they're putting on display. Hopefully never made-it-to production pieces.
I definately will take pics. But they will be selling those, im just wondering if anyone knows of price, or if anyone is even going. My g/f is one of those Frogskin freak lovers that will buy any and all Frogskins, ha.
But yup, ill have my camera ready.
they are the only frogskins i would like in my collection, but i got no chance unless i watch ebay... hopefully they go cheap so that it also puts people off who buy things like this just to make a profit off it. It would make me happy to piss them people off haha.
You'll have to wait until next year or the year after when the hype on the Froggies die down to get it for cheap(er), like with the Flores and the other GCs.
what will be funny is if they flopped like the DF2's at the local events...When I went to Costa Mesa, they had 10, I bought 6, and nobody bought any others...Too bad!!!
Hey guys, I didnt get a chance to go, even though it was minutes from me, because I had other crap to take care of. But I did have a chance to call to see if they had any left, and they told me that SO many people showed up, they were going to do a raffle to sell them. So not only did you need to win the raffle, then you had to buy them. And I figured I was too late to go, so oh well. Would have liked to own a pair.
Blends has been my favorite retailer since they had only 1 shop in the OC. Going to an Oakley X Blends event was a no-brainer. The release was pretty straight forward, raffle tickets were handed out to purchase the glasses. If your # was called, then you were able to purchase the glasses for $180. The whole raffle system was used to help prevent kids from lining up for hours for the glasses. Like the pictures show, they basically had 3 double wides setup with various items from Oakley's past and present. Luckily I walked away with 2 pairs of Frogs! The frame itself is a little more subdued when it is actually put on. They came in the Frogskin box with the microbag only. The only label on them was the label from Blends pricetag. They did not have the usual Oakley label which shows the product# and the # made. There may be a few more Blends exclusive Oakleys in the future. ;) Yes the pricetag was steep. But considering the were hand-painted straight from the factory, and they came with the Fire lens, the price was on-point with the current Artist Release pricing.
