When I called in to find about my foose non s/n eidtion backordered since 11/2, I was reminded how uninformed the people that answer the phones at o.com can be, some of them don't have a clue....amazing.
BUT since I work for a fortune 500 company too, I am quite familar how the left hand does'nt know what the right hand is doing most of the time...amazing.

Good one Tony! You got yours before I did, and you wanted me to post a pic, I guess mine will be old news by then. I did get my +red SJs though, and you're right, they're awesome! Mine is on the way here for tomorrow's delivery. I probably wont post any pics for a few days though.

Well, they are. Not like a DF or C100...No pad print, no art at all. The car is boring and so are the shades. I guess it could be worse, they could have released a Boyd Coddington pair HAHA!

I actually found myself surprisingly pleased with the FOOSE. While we tend to get our hopes up for wierd faces or wild foul on these artist series - I think the foose does a great job of understated excellence. The brushed aluminum is a pretty "impressive underwhelming" effect. Orange icons = good. Aluminum to green transition = good. FOOSE and whatever P32 is = good. And a scribbly signature on the dark grey lens is all that really keeps me from popping in some flashier iridium.

Emerald I though about, or maybe fire to match the icons hey Paul?

Josh knows Jim so thats how he got those lo numbers....;)
BTW-Think that s/n number font could be any smaller...wth!

Well Josh, all though I wouldn’t condone it on the Foose (especially one with such a low s/n), it sounds like you may have found your next chop project.

gaspWould he dare!?![/gasp]

No no, I wish I knew Jim. Hell, I have only seen him a couple of times, and that was at NHRA events. I am not so lucky.

I am not bashing the Foose, don't get me wrong. I just assumed with such a awesome artist that Chip Foose is, they would really look better, especially in person. That just isn't the case. They are a nice pair of glasses, but they just don't seem Foosey (is that a word)...We have grown to expect the sickest of imagery on the art series, and there just is no imagery on these. P32, okay...

The packaging is top notch, but the glasses fall short I think. Why not make them from brushed O-luminum? That would be sick!! They have proven we junkies will pay stupid prices to get them!!

Technically, the only thing they fall short of is people's opinions/conjurings of what they should look like. Does that make sense?

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of way out-there designs. Of course, I like having a little flare in my collection (a la Artist Series), but they're more of a novelty than a true love for me. In fact, my nightmare would be someone taking my 300 and pimping it out on Overhaulin' with a flame paint job. I'd cry. I've always appreciated the more subtle projects by Chip. So, when I hear the adjective "Foosey" I instinctively think classy, sophisticated, and subtle...but he does go both ways. That said, it would be cool to see what Foosey could do if he were in a different design mood, but this one works well for me.

I was just messin' with Josh by the way, I wasn't accusing him of bashing the Foose. To each their own.

DISCLAIMER: In no way am I insinuating that Chip "goes both ways"

Now O-luminum would be the Shat!! With a brush finish to boot and an anodized finish on the inside and on the square O.

If we are going all the way then lets have an upholstered box to match the interior and the foose speedometer on the top of the box and have the oakley logo inside the speedometer like the judge.

Ok I am dreaming!!

This is growing on me. Just like some of the other stuff I have not liked at first, but can't do without in my collection. I have never been a big fan of the frogskin shape, but I am crazy about their skins and colorway combos. There is no denying the fun factor of these little gems. I don't have to like to look of candy, to enjoy the flavor!

What's more, Oakley has so many wonderful flavors to choose from and what oakley doesn't make, some of us (Josh) make ourselves...;o) If oakley got it right everytime, then Dr. Chop would not be needed and what would this place be like with out him....I shutter to think.

Oh #30 and #50 Josh. You lead a charmed life also...;o)

I hear ya there Dr. J, and yeah, the falling short is perspectives. Classy is always good, but these look more military and less Foose...
