Just seen pics of the new Oakley Split Thump.
Looks just like Hijinx and has removable speaker ear booms, hidden control and unobtanium on inside of the ear stems. The control buttons are actually integrated into the large square icon. Coool.
Starting at 249$ for the 512mb
299$ for 1 Gig
399$ for 2 Gig
So obviously, the benefit is you can wear them as a music player or just normal sunglasses, but wouldn't they be pretty hefty even without the ear pieces?
I shouldn't be surprised that they used the Hijinx as the template for the newest Thump. It's their lastest and greatest, after all. Love the idea of removable earpieces, but with my organizational skills, I'd probably lose one or both of them sooner or later.
They had tought of going with a Monster Dog Design for the first Thump but choose Gascan instead, we know the rest; O Square was launch and many models looking alike.
'We're not sure why Oakley keeps gluing MP3 players to semi-fashionable sunglasses and expecting us to be impressed, but they've gone above and beyond this time by calling the latest model the Split Thump. Apart from sounding like a kitchen accident, it's the same old Thump concept you know and avoid, only this time with controls integrated into the O logo and detachable earpieces so you can just be a straight-up Oakley guy instead of a giant Oakley nerd.'
Let's nuke those Geeks.
and so what if it is the same idea,
i think the i pod has always been an i pod since the launch, but still it keeps selling..hmmm why i wonder..
I think he may be the official reason the Thump line isn't doing to well. If not, he should be. Oakley should write a letter formally requesting him not to wear them in public.
