is there a way to order different icons? i always see you guys customizing and changing icons, can i call customer service and order them?

I use a hair dryer to heat them first to loosen up the glue, then use a thin blade (ie swiss army knife) to get under it and gently pry it up.

I use the same method but got a set of dental picks on ebay for like $3 and they work good to get under them without damaging the frame at all..Didn't have much luck with a blade...Good luck man

I do fine with my thumbnail and a little flex of the stems.

one word guys; exacto knife...thin blade works fine...

Uhh...am I missing something, or did he ask about ORDERING custom icons, not how to swap them. And to my very little knowledge you can't just order icons, you have to butcher another helpless pair for your job.

That's it. You can't order them. Not on their own. So swapping is the way to go and that's how we all do it. That's what he wanted to know. How we do it. We just suck it up and swap them from pair to pair.

I didn't use any glue to put the icons back on my hijinx and they have stayed fine and they were out of the frame for a few minuets.

I'm sure plenty of people have hookups on icons however its already a favor asking the person to get them, much less get them for an entire forum.

Bill's tip on using a hair dryer is a good one to soften the adhesive. If you're careful you'll get all to most of the adhesive with it and won't need to use anything. If you totally loose it all or it can get twisted up and gummy, just use a good strong two sided tape. That's all it is.

use a good contact cement if the adhesive is compromised during removal. I use Barge brand contact cement and dab it on with a toothpick on both the icon and the frame and they won't budge until you want them to. don't go crazy with the glue though, makes them tough to take off later...
