A buddy is mine is selling these Gascans. He got them from a friend from a friend who works at O. Apparently, they were messed up and not sold at the retail level. He says small paint bubbles may be the reason, he isn't sure. I'm at school so I can't take a look at them so maybe some of you better at this than I can spot if they are fake. He says the box only has a UPC, not a frame and lenses designation. They don't seem to match any in the Catalogue...

i would say, fake.
why, the o is to far away of " the cut" where it folds.
the o are to center of the ear stem.
i checked with all my gascans and they are all the same, evern the asain fit flores.

that is my opservation.

i hope this can help you

The o is not square enough, so I would agree with Marcel

Not saying they aren't fake, but keep in mind the "Square" O on the Gascan is a lot more round than what is now shown to the be the iconic Square O in branding and advertising and the rebranded stretch items. The Polished pair looks fine, the matte pair looks funky.

here is my 5 day old pair Brent had made up for the visit to hq last week for comparison for placement and size of the icon. this will give a better idea of what we are guessing at

if you see josh gascan, and most all gascan, the o is more on the etch and not center of the stem.

They look strange.. do they have spring hinges? All fakes I held in hand didn't had the new hinges.

Thanks for the advice so far. All I have are these pictures to go by and I've taken a good look at a pair of Gascans maybe once. Odds are they're fake, but he seems pretty confident they aren't. If he still has them this weekend I'll take a look.

Here is a front shot.

The microbag, papers and box are real so if the glasses are fake someone sure went through alot of hassle to make them look real.

Wow those are probably the best fakes I've seen, IMO they are definately fakes, but they do not give themselves away like so many others.

They are fake. Those warranty cards look as if they are printed on regular paper.

theres a lot of fake oakley items on ebay nowadays with complete paperwork and boxes etc.
its easier to print on paper than to manufacture sunnies so yeah theres still a possibility its fake.
also notice the microbag in that pic, its got the small 'rope' whereas a normal microbag has bigger ones.

way too much bend in the arms too!! Mine (all 13 of them) are much more flat than the curve of those...

Yea, the arms really stand out. I can't recall the Gascans Ive seen, but it does look real odd.

The microbag seems genuine to me. Even the top stitches line up right.

I'm with MyOaks about the microbag. It should have much thicker string than the one in the photo, that thin stuff is for the small bags. Also, all the large black bags I've seen have white string, not black.

And that paperwork is folded wrong too. How the hell is that card listing the lens types supposed to fit in the box unless it is just bent round the glasses? There should be two folds clearly visible there. Plus the paper looks too shiney.

I've never even seen a pair of Gascans and I'm thinking those are fakes. Either that or real glasses with fake microbag and paperwork....

Man, these stems are awesome. why don't real gascan have these?

Btw the bag really looks fake... they often make the failure with the too thin string.
