Are the new Radar/Flak Jacket lenses coated on both sides with the Hydrophobic coating or just the front?

i think both sides, because u dip the lens in this unique coating

could be wrong...

Seems to be both sides, since I've notice a lack of smudging on the inside, which on any other pair, would have been really bad by now.

Are they really as easy to clean as they say?

Totally, my Half Jackets and others after a few weeks of use would be completely foggy without wiping them down. These are still as clear as the day I bought them, and I haven't wiped them with the bag once yet.

Nice,
I ordered a pair from a member here and can't wait to get them. I LOVE O lenses but they can be hard to keep clean., I am pretty anal about ANY marks on lenses so having these will be nice.( I almost cry if someone touches, or leaves a mark on my shades.)LOL

FYI I ordered a pair direct from Oakley. I ordered the Blue Iridium/Polished Chrome The sales rep. said they are holding orders on certain Radars due to some sort of quality control issue.

I was hoping to get them before friday this week, but I may not get them at all this week which would really suck because I am going to be out of town for the rest of the month. :( I am definately going to be checking my local Oakley store. If they have them available I'm going to cancel my order and rush out to the store.

If you know or have one available please PM me asap!!!!

I've been wondering if using the water jacket solution on my M frame lenses would help them stay any cleaner, has anyone tried this? If that wont work, any word on when/if hydrophobic lenses will be released for other models?

The Radars that are being held back are those in Metalic Red frames.

That's not what they told me. They said specifically the Blue iridium/chrome's. I'm gonna call them back. I need to any way since I didn't get a tracking number.

I also was lead to believe that it was the +RED with Metallic Red frame that had a quality issue.

+RED with Metallic Red has been discontinued. It will be replaced by Metallic Red w/ VR28 Black just like in the Flack Jacket.

The + Red Radar had a reaction with the lens coating and the foam in the case. They scratched them right after the first small shipments went out, I was lucky and recieved the one that I ordered. They are SICK and are gonna be HARD to find! The White Chrome also had a quality control issue of some kind with the frame and my initial order had them back ordered and was told June was when to expect them, i hope they hit this week. If you can find the +red Radar...Pick them up, you won't regret it.....just don't keep them in the case. lol

Sucks on the +red....man I really wanted a pair of those....

I can't speak highly enuff on the Flak - I have been really suprised... I'm very picky about my lenses and am more likely to be caught without underwear than a cleaning bag but wow - no fear with these fire lenses.... Combined with a superior frame design and you can't lose. I'm gonna have to have a few more of these.

Not sure if this question has been asked before, so here goes. I got a pair of clear Flak lenses secondhand (unused) from a seller on ebay. They came in a Flak replacement lens box with the correct barcode/sku label/sticker, but they didn't have the "H" sticker on the lens. They don't seem to be very hydrophobic to me. Water beads up on them (like my old HJ lenses) instead of running down and off the lens. Also they seem to attract lots of dust/lint from the air and when I wipe them with a cleaning bag they attract all the dust/lint that is on the cleaning bag. Anyone else having this problem with the clear Flak lens? I thought I might try the sharpie test, but now I'm worried I won't be able to get the marker to come off. LOL. Any thoughts?

To answer the question about the treating lense- I have X-Hairs treated with the Hydrophic kit and it works fairly well. Not as well as the XLJ Flak lenses treated from the factory, but there is noticeably less smudging when I put them up on my head.

Do you have a Hydrophobic lens to compare them too? They have a distinct feel when you rub your finger across the lens as opposed to a standard lens.

The lenses by themselves don't come with the H sticker, but yea.... they should be hydrophobic but maybe its a bad batch or something.

The stickers are only clings and was prob removed by the seller. They all get removed where I work.
