I know that if I hooked someone up and then they immediately sold them for a profit I would be pissed!
Then this is between you and the other person...and not a 3rd party and the person who is selling it...I'm leaving it at that...Also, please reread what I wrote and in which context and response I stated the comment you quoted...

Anyways, I'm done in this thread...until I get my hands on some Hijinx..

The Art Chantry aren't going to be as limited as the other GC art series. These will be found at many O stores with multiple recieved shipments.

I guess that is even better. I heard that #(5000) about 3-4 weeks ago. Thanks for the info!
Oh I could be wrong, its just what I was told.

As of last week I was told it was only going to the 5 to 10 "BLOC" approved O-Stores.

And wow, $90! I think you got lucky, the retail price in the system at the O - Store here shows $160

Maybe thats what took so long for it to come out, they changed their plans to a wider release and cheaper price. Good for us!

Fantastic news. Now we don't have to jump through hoops or pay insane prices to get one.

A 1922 Plain (Penny) is worth to a collector about $1500usd, should I sell it for $0.01 cuz it is the face value? Or should I sell it only for $300 as this is what I paid? Or should I sell it at the price that people are willing to pay for it? No brainer to me...
I think its fine if that a 1922 Penny is worth more than a cent. The difference is that is an 85 year old penny. So its a real vintage. The Chantry Hijinx were just released and people are selling that for ridiculous prices now. People can do what they want but I think if you want to sell new releases for insane prices to take advantage of Oakley collectors go and do it on ebay or other selling sites. The O-review should be a place for fellow collectors to help each other get these newly released special "limited" items. You can always mark up the old vintage stuff and place it on here but not the new stuff. Selling new stuff on here for 3 times the price is taking advantage of O collectors. It sucks what's happening here on the Review. I think some are caring more about making a buck than the collections. Big shout out to the real O-Reviewers who are willing to help out a fellow member. You know who you are!

Glad to see the Chantry are finally out. Time to hit the streets!

I think there are some of us who see and value the o-review as a cooperative community and don't feel comfortable in leveraging it for profit.

I think there are some of us who are just as lovely and fanatical about Oakley that are comfortable in selling or re-selling items for profit.

I would also agree that some flak may be given to those seeking profit. For all the 'shout outs' that are given to the kind gestures, the reverse can also happen.

By the way, I did get some free Chantry stuff that I passed on for free / sans profit.

Although new to this site I think that taking advantage of ANY true Oakley collector bites and should not happen, especially at a great site like this one, were most members seem to look out for other members.
I had to contact Dann so I could become a member, it wasnt easy for me because of scalpers in the past (thanks by the way for making me a member). This site is Awesome and I know that I have only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the crazy/ awesome collectors/collections on this site, dont take advantage of a great place.

Just got off the phone with the two Jersey O-Stores, and both said they aren't going to get it. I guess it isn't going to be as available as we hoped it would be.

For the Canadians: Got a Chantry Hijinx from my OPD today. They were able to order the 5 allotted, but all of them were reserved by different people. So you might want to give your OPD a call as soon as you can.

The Oakley price label said "USD 160", but I was charged $160 CDN for mine, so I can't tell you the real price of it. I suspect it's actually $90 USD despite what the label says.

Also, the "serial number" on the box is in the 2,000 range, so I can't tell you if it's limited to 1000 or 5000, either (though like I've always said, Oakley probably doesn't use that number as a count anymore anyway).

Ok this is the word I got from a guy i know at HQ:

" Release is 10,000 worldwide "

Kinda makes sense to me, why produce a frame with out at least selling a good number to cover the costs. The c100 was a exclusive not an Limited Edition as for the DF's well they just never finished that of, I'd have to believe that there would have been higher numbers.

Actually in the Oakley computer as of yesterday they are $90 USD. Which I think is rather nifty considering how amazingly cool the colorway is!

I just can't see how it would be less than the simple Bruce Irons edition. They are invoiced for $160. I just can't see anyway that they could do it for $90.

Maybe matte is cheaper than polished. Maybe the print isn't as costy as we think. Maybe that's Bruce spent the time to sign all of the earstems.

Even still, you have the custom bag and box to throw off the price. $90 does sound too good to be true but ya never know I guess.

In other unrelated news, I was super pissed to find out that the Brown sugar coating was peeling off on the inside of the ends of the arms on my new Hijinx.

Either I have acid sweat or this coating is...shall we say...less than quality.

I chipped off whatever was bubbling up and now both arms are like this after one day of use.
