I am telling you I did not ask her to have mine signed. I got number 253. After I got them emailed and I asked how many were signed and that is what she told me.

Dude, you need to get over it, those that were lucky enough to get one can do whatever he or she wants to do with it. So as your email went to me earlier, all the reviewers that are "hocking" there DF2's on ebay are non "true" collectors, I just have to laugh at you! Go ahead and send the other reviewers on here that have sold theres what you sent me earlier today.

Who is "R"??

Well at any rate, lets keep this thread civil and in honor of the "O-Gawd" that started this thread have fun with our addiction. After all, its a free country, we can all do has we like. And it appears we all like to spend our hard on cash on Oakley and meet nice people on this forum. :)

I agree with oluvrnawlins...bhaley2four has the right to do what he wants with his collection, and I think that part of collecting is sometimes letting something go for the greater good. Just my opinion.

i agree. we all collect for our own reasons. these are our reasons and we don't have to explain them if we don't feel we want to. if someone decided to sell what they have for any reason it is there reason and they don't have to justify it to anyone if they fell they dont want to. just a opinion.

I agree! Anyone here has a right to do whatever they want with their glasses without being judged by others. They don't have to feel guilty or made to feel like not a "True Oakley Collector" We are here for the love of Oakley and for the support of our fellow collectors!

OMFGROTFLMFAO - limited quantity drives demand - demand drives price...period. I have sold stuff priced out the @$$. Just because I got the stuff for dirt cheap does not mean I sell it for dirt cheap. One thing I live by:

I BUY OAKLEY, TO BUY OAKLEY

I had 3 Flight Deck beanies, sold 2 on ebay for over 300% profit each...the last one I traded with a fellow ORer. If someone is willing to pay out the ass for it, be my guest... I have something others want...and I ain't giving it out for nothing...You want it, you pay for it...simple as that. One of the ORers had something I wanted, I had something he wanted, so it was an even wash...

To all those that have sold/are selling the DFs...Way to go guys. If you can live without it, why not. Even if I could not live without it...at that price I would learn to live without it....

Thanks guys, I don't know what started this from him, I had a email on my ebay auction from him, pretty much telling me I didn't know what I was talking about and so forth. I am as laid back and easy to get along with as you can find. Oh well I guess, done deal. I agree that everyone has an opinion, but keep it to yourself if you don't have something good to say. I just kinda ticked me off that he called all of "us" non-collectors for selling them? Makes no sense to me at all? But what can you do, there is always "that guy". Consider it dropped from me. Later guys

Let me be the first to disagree with you completely. If a member here goes out of his way to help you obtain a rare piece for your personal collection, it's a complete slap in the face to his good nature, to turn around and sell it for a profit. If you guys think its right, you clearly dont understand this place.

Gotta agree with Bill on that point as well. If someone here helps you out there is a certain amount of courtesy should be shown. People who offer to help you get something here don't make much profit, if any at all, and to sell what they helped you get for your collection for no other reason but to make enormous profits, is telling them that they should have never helped you in the first place and instead, kept it and made the profit themselves. However, if you were one of the lucky ones who was able to obtain your pieces outside of this tight community here...more power to you on the open market. In the end though, each person can do what they please with their collection no matter what anyone else thinks. Just can't fight that.

i think Andrew basically said what i wanted to chime in... ultimately the end user has a right to do as they wish since the item is clearly in their possession.

personally i'd feel awkward reselling items that a particular O-Review member helped me purchase. even if i had to resell the item because of some dire situation, i'd sell it at or near the original purchase price. that's just me...

if there's a market out there for rare items, i'm fine if the item is listed on Ebay at a reasonable starting bid and then let the chips (or bids for that matter) fall where it may.

it's true that the O-Review is a tight community, there are many members who've helped me out throughout the years and it's not uncommon for me to actually give stuff away from my own collection as a sign of appreciation; and vice versa, which i'm eternally grateful for. i still owe several members favours, and that i have not forgotten them.

A simple statement was made here in this forum... and that was to Rick (aka "R")... and that was regarding the fact that he would not be selling his DF Gascans on eBay for a vast profit. Nothing more, nothing less. And no one was targeted or even referenced in that statement. If someone was offended, that's not my fault. Hmm... must've hit pretty close to the mark to get someone all riled up like that, huh?

I do not know the details of the acquisition of Brent's but I agree with Bill too, if my pals here help me out, I am not going to dump them on ebay unless I first asked the guy that helped me out, if he's cool then I suppose its ok. But I don't even sell things I pay thru the arse for so I would not unless of unforeseen circumstances, like I could not pay my bills, someone's sick, etc.

I do know the reason this seller is selling his and I totally understand in his case.

That being said I certainly hope this thread does not turn into a pissing contest, this thread that Rick started is about the product itself not the ins and outs of selling on ebay. Lets not have another "Kramer" thread, please.

My mistake then Nike, it was right after my post and from what you had sent me earlier in the day, i figured it was towards me. So I will be the first to say my mistake. I don't really see what the deal is with this, it is buried in my opinion. Like I stated I am very thankful of the member that included me in the trade request that was posted in the classifieds. I was able to help him out with a couple of pieces that he needed and I am glad I was able to help his collection out in the process. He knows who he is and he will also have something else pretty sweet comingto him in the next couple of weeks. Again like I stated earlier, if it will be more appreciated in someone elses collection than so be it. Again I meant NO disrespect to ANYONE on this board at all! If you want me to stop the auction, just let me know.
Later all!

No problem, Brent. And I apologize if I sounded rude earlier, too. I just see quite a few of the DF Gascans being sold on eBay... and... if you've been following those auctions closely, THREE of them have been purchased by ONE guy! Yeah, he paid for them. But you know what? I'd rather see someone who DOESN'T have a pair get them. Take Lex, for example. How long has he had his request posted in the want ads? A long time. No, he isn't the only one... but I would say that he's a true collector... and would greatly and eternally appreciate a piece of that caliber. And he's willing to pay a fair - not ludicrous - price for a pair. If I had an extra pair, my money would be on Lex!
