If you get clear ones from peeling off the whiskey, then how about matte clear? I saw that cferr has matte clear Fatcats and I am wondering if he scraped the matte black ones down?

Another oddball ebay purchase. Except Whiskey, the others are solid color through and through.

This is absolutely pure speculation and nothing more, but could it be that it was cleared from a Tortoise frame? Either way, there are cleaning solvents that can turn a clear plastic frame into a matte one. I just don't know what it is offhand.

Oakley could have run a few clear frames in Matte to see if the Whiskey paint held on better? Never know. But if you cleared a Tort frame you'd be left with something close to polished Rootbeer.

Used to be back in the day that a clear frame like that was a big indication of an Oakley fake. You guys and all your custom jobs are just messin with my mind.

Clear + sandpaper = matte clear (?)

hmmm....sandpaper....wish I had the balls to try that....afraid I will ruin the frames...

I also came up with sandblasting with very fine sand and very low pressure...I think this would actually work as long as you don't hit one spot for too long...but
I'm afraid to ruin the frames doing this too

Even easier is a matte clear spray.

I heard using sugar instead of sand will give you nice results.
