I'm glad we can get etching on both lenses. I would really like it to be one frame, one lens. Its like a unity thing.

I like THIS idea. Everyone orders what they want in this order.
#1 You painstakingly pick what you want exactly
#2 You email me at VUTT@comcast.net with your order and all your contact information. NO turning back
#3 once we confirm O$ and availability 50% down. no limits
#4 I place the order as soon as we hit 75
#5 I receive your glasses from Oakley excitedly and put my pair on first :)-
#6 We repackage your pair, call you for the balance if you don't have it you will get a nasty letter from Bill & Dann
#7 you receive your glasses from the UPS driver like a kid on Christmas morning.
#8 you will immediately run to your computer will ripping open the box ( Please don't run with scissors ) and take lots of pictures and see who can post their pictures the fastest
#9 You stare at yourself in the mirror envying your fat *** (VUTT)=Very Unique To Trendy rare sunglasses thanks to VUTT, Bill, Gary and all the O-Reviewers that helped,
#10 you start another chat about what the 07 glass should be.
END OF STORY what do you think? Paul RULER OF VUTT
PS I think everyone that buys one will be put on a list with what they bought, where located and posted. Also hung up in store and framed.

Now pic before i shoot my computer.....

This is where it gets semi-complicated from everyone having the same pair... but I'll go with what the group goes with

Sounds good. Just give us a few guidelines to go with so we don't end up choosing something that can't be done and waste time. And for your sake, I think 100% down might save you a lot of aggrivation.

Well, I'm goin on the record as not liking the idea of everyone picking their own. Whats special about 1 pair of glasses with a logo on it? Where's the unity? Before this idea, Paul and I discussed releasing three styles (MD,GC,Five) and letting everyone have the option of ordering any or one of each. Ultimately its Paul's deal so if thats the way he wants it, its the way it goes I guess.

Thanks for saying it Bill. There's nothing special about individual frames. Pick a frame and colorway you want based on our previous input. Tell us what it will be before you order it. Collect our deposits and order it. Next year make it a different frame.

This is a pretty good idea.

I would generally tend to agree with the offering of one specific/unique colorway of F3.0/GC/MD each - and offering the choice among 3. However, the main hitch that caught my eye was the "Place Order once 75 is reached". Bill, please correct me if I'm wrong, but did we get all that close to 75? I just imagine a scenario where it takes months to build up an order of 75 - unless VUTT was going to fill in the gap with a bulk order to sell in store?

By the way, is the VUTT logo going to be in the regular laser engraved script - or will it be the custom logo as seen on their website?

If Fred couldn't get 5 people to do a custom order, I fear that Paul may end up with a lot of non-committals. Do we even have 75 active members.

I also think having a "2006" Colorway for the frame and lens is a good idea. That way a frame like the GC that doesn't fit everyone isn't imposed among those that can't wear it. It would be far simpler than VUTT trying to coordinate 75 OCE builds.

I certainly hope all you O-Review people put your $$$ where your mouths are. Lets get this going.

Ugh, this is all ridiculous. We need to start this all over, and lay out all the facts and possibilities.

I for one have been lost for a long time on this.

We need to do several things.

First, decide on if we all want to have the same pair.

If so, what frame, and what colorways.

If we're fighting over what we want done, we need to lay out all the frames available, all the frame colors we can use, and all the lense colors we can use with the style.

Whats this going to cost too, roughly.

Lets get all the REAL facts out there in one place and then go from there.

It is much easier to do 3 models, same colorway for every model, cause there are some of us who don`t like GCs, but there are others who hate 5s.
I think that the possibility to choose from 5s, MDs and GCs is a very good idea.
But I wonder how many of us want to do this? Are we even close to 75?

I agree, I think the people (Paul, Bill, etc.)in charge should just pick one frame/lens and thats it. People who want in, front the money.

The same colorway in 3 different frames sounds like a plan to me.. it's flexible but also ensures uniformity. Picking exactly which color combo is gonna be tough though.. and let's face it, polls just aren't gonna work I don't think. I say leave it up to the "organising commitee" to make a final decision on that.

P.S - If it were up to me, matte black/24k or somethin on those lines for sure :)

I also agree with bill. if we are going to this with different frames, they should be a set colorway, not people picking and choosing what they want. Kinda defeats the purpose of setting something like this up.

I don't wanna be rude but I lost sight of this thread after the second page.... nothing personal but if you are still counting on my vote for the original idea onto whatever this has evolved into, please don't.

Thanks!

Seconding Nik. I like the idea of having the group "signature" offered in some different frames, like the collegiate series, but if it's going to be building individual frames for each person without unity, I might as well do that in store.

Id like to take this opportunity to say that as of today, I'm officially bowing out of the project. It is attributed to creative and visionary differences between Paul and I, and what the idea of the whole thing was vs. what it has become (regardless of the cooperation we get from Oakley).

Please refer all future communication about it to either Paul(VUTT), Gary (Judge21), or Andrew (Berbano). I have forwarded the current list of interested members as well.
