I am waiting for my pair of matte black/warm grey canteens but so far there are no reviews of the warm grey lense on the site. Any of you canteen owners care to do a review?

Phil, I guess we have it wrong in the database, but even on the oakley site they said they were grey lens, I have the Olive and the white, both are grey and I have seen the other 2 combos in person, they were grey as well.

I know theres not that much of a difference between grey and dark grey but I dont see Oakley putting dark grey on only 1 of the 4 fluoro camo packs.

Perhaps someone could help confirm.

No, I know Oakley says they're all grey so we reflected that in the DB, but two Fluoro Navy MDs with Dark Grey lenses can't be wrong.

Made me wonder when I got my first pair last summer too, until I got the Dark Olive MD to compare it to.

I see your point, looks true indeed, a shame they could not get their facts straight.

And on crystal frames, a lighter lens helps show the crystal, wonder why the went with dark grey...

Sorry, but I don't fully subscribe to that theory. (No offense or anything.) I do feel it has to do with the light passing through the frame but when it's up against your face nothing is passing directly through from the rear to fully "light it up."

Light that passes through it from above or at certain angles will. As will light the refracts through it. I mean, I can see a minimal amount of light that gets through the lighter lenses brightening it up around the orbitls a tad bit but not fully illuminating it the way light passing thorugh it at all angles would.

The place I most see this is at work. Customers complain about how light a lens is because light is passing through the rear of a lens when in the display case, but onces it's one the Iridium shows or non-iridium lenses are darkened. Same seems true of the Crystal frames we have. They glow with multitudes of light hitting them, but darkened when against you head.

Another quick lens comparison from my White Camo (Grey lens) frame and my Fluoro Navy (Dark Grey) frame.

Good comparison Phil & cool pic. It looks like the cover of The Community Project DVD. Dark Grey also comes in the Crosshair & I think it really shows off the Green-ness of it. Personally, though, I like Jean Gray

I could see Jean Gray lens being a Warm Grey base with *gasp* a firey-red iridium coating. No more Ruby!

Back to the topic - I also really like the dark grey lense! The green base is very soothing and that it looks greenish is (for me) the main advantage. Green rocks!

I'm blown away at how better this lens is than the base grey.

Even used it on boat patrol today.

Grey and Dark Grey are fantastic lenses. Subtle and dark colours are really in this season, and the coupling of these lenses with the new fashion frames (Oil Drum, Spike etc) is great to see. I hope Oakley keep it up.

I like a nice cup of Earl Grey. Always wakes me up gently in the morning.

Particularly with a dash of milk and honey.

I love the grey in my Fives 1.0 Matte Black/Grey... that lens rocks... seriously probably my favorite in terms of usability and how easy it is on the eyes.

My second lens was gray in Crystal Black M Frames and it served me better than the Black iridium.

I do prefer the neutral color Gray lens though

And i will raise a few gray geese

Donny, me and Phil debated that a while ago, and Phil discovered that some of the Fluoro MD had dark grey instead of just plain grey.

They probably ran short of grey and started putting some dark grey lens, theres a thread about it somewhere.

Todd, you are the man! Jean Grey is my favorite too, but warm grey is a close second. I can't wait for warm grey polarized! Bring that one on.

I wouldn't say they ran short. It was prob planned to introduce the lens before it's wide release on the Crosshair and Whisker.

This needs a boost to compete with the awesome Bronze thread.
