Has Anyone Seen This!!! The more I look at it the more I want it. But they are not oakley and sure did rip oakley off on part of the design..

What do you guys think?

I think I might get it becuase it goes with the over the top look and everyone will ask about when they see it in my dispaly case......or Oakley should buy this design from the guy who made this and use ther own o-matter..

There was a thread about this ages ago. Those are actually imitations, and apparently oakley shut em down pretty quickly.

These were flaoting around here a few months back too. Interesting that someone would actually market almost identical Over The Tops and not get in any trouble.

They hinge in the center. The back half rotates flush into the front half. I was going to get some for props, but didn't feel like spending the money.

I was looking into these myself.

The manufacturer is called Skulvision and are available on info@skulvision.com

they look pretty cool and are quite cheap. The "fade" paint jobs look a little cheap though and I am still to look into UV stats for the lenses.

will posts again when I know more

Just looked at my mail after posting last entry and had a reply

=====================

I am certainly interested but at that price it almost sounds too good to be true. Could you let me know what kind of UV protection rating comes with them. Could you also tell me if the hinge is an integral part of the frame or whether it is a metal or plastic add on.

I also noted on the internet that there are some patent problems with Oakley. Are these sunglasses likely to be recalled (and as such do I need to rush) or will the be permanently available?

Could you let me know what methods of payment you accept?

If you could send me a picture or even better direct me to a website with a side view of the glasses that would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Yours sincerely,

William Brown

The person you need to contact for some of the information you require is DEREK in the States (the person who gave me your details) These SKULVision shades are his product. www.skulvision.com I am just an individual who bought 1 pair for myself to wear whilst riding back and fore to work in the summer. Once I received them I fell in love with the "way out" look. I thought there might be a market here in the UK (which there is), so I have had a large quantity shipped over for me to sell and make a few bob.

The frames are made of plastic, as is the pivot pin. Please don't think these are cheap tat though......they are not. The pivot pin looks like it passes through metal eyelets which are pressed into both parts of the frame.

As for patent problems.......this is news to me. These are not copies of Oakleys.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK????

No matter what is said, in the end they really are just modified Over the Top copies.

I saw these at the bike trade show in 2003, I was laughing my ass off! I mean it's one thing to rip off a popular idea, but quite another to put time and money into stealing a design with an extremely limited market. I'd be shocked if the company sold more than 100 of these things.

Ha! It does look like a cock and balls, doesn't it? I'd definatley stick to the Overthetops. They are better designed, better made and they look pretty damn cool.

Well guys, people make fun of Overthetops as well. Just about the bike trade show thing above, are they actually marketing these in public?

I'm definetly not interested but would like to know the flex ratio of these if anyones tried them on.
