Exciting time i must say for the x metal fans....Not very good on the wallet though....

And i thought Oakley stopped the serials thingy already....only for them to come back with them on both arms...

Kind of digging this x metal / Slate combo...very understated and not too flashy...Man i would love to have 1 but looking at the price it is commanding i think it is just another empty dream....

sigh...

Cheers Ford, I always know you got my back bro. I have already put out a few "feelers" and I'm sure I'll have something good to report by morning. Even Japan can't sell out 1000 in one day (or can they?).

As for the Corvette Juliets, that is something I'm going to have to learn to live without as they were never offered for sale to the public. I think the best way of describing those ones is factory customs as they didn't come with boxes or serials. Not saying I wouldn't love one though! Just won't be holding my breath.

Japan doesn't mess about mate - not when it comes to exclusive/limited editions!

What's your point about the signature on the lens Jake?
This is way too late but I thought it means its authentic & a real combo?? But all have been answered now.. Just keep us updated when u got a hold on 1 Rick =)

Jake, there are loads (heaps) of Ichiro sig lenses out there - they are not a guarantee that the Juliets are offical Ichiro's - just so you know.

Very nice. I'm glad Oakley's still putting Serial #s on at least some things.

Ahh.. thanks Rick.. I didnt know that (O_o) And yeah.. the serial # will make them more expensive & confirms their authenticity.. Hope they wont fade easily though...

Does anyone have info on a speacial Ichiro R2? Or is this not a special edition in Japan, was browsing trying to find the New Ichiro on the site and came across this pic.

I haven't heard anything about any Ichiro R2, but then again, I didn't know anything about this latest Ichiro Juliet. I have asked and just been looked at funny.

I was kind of surprised to see it, but I was looking through the Japan site and translated the pages so I could understand them, but this one was there and it was in the athlete section with the caption "Ichiro Suzuki Romeo 2" so it leads me to think there may just be another limited to get our hands on...

I may be the voice of dissent but this looks like a pretty boring combo apart from the commemorative engraving. My first thought was that it looked like a custom. Oh why couldn't they stick hammer stems on things?!

Yeah I fully agree Rick....The limited edition things to come out of Oakley Japan is indeed something special everynow and then....

Alittle OT...
So when would there ever be a Australia exclusive/limited edition run....man!! If only there are some exclusive / limited MDs for the Australian market too....I would be one of the first to add them to my collection...

Nite Camo Ti Clear??....heheee but that would be pretty insignificant once the BTO for the MDs are launched i guess...

AN Australian Exclusive...HA!

Those guys in Melbourne don't know what the hell Aussie buyers want. They are so out of touch, heck I learnt today (and from an extremeley reliable source that they're not even aware of this site) so lets not hold our breath an any exclusives.

Well... I also think this is a boring combo... man, X-Metal/Slate??

But the R2 looks awesome - are these em (slate) lenses??

Btw - it seems as if ichiro is trying to start a competion with ducati about the most sigs out there 8)

Mike I agree....An Australian exclusive item is definitely unforeseeable in the very near future....

Maybe Oakley should support / Sponser the Australian Cricket Team....everytime i see them on the news those test players are always with a pair of Oakleys M frames...Maybe a World Champ thingy too if history does repeat itself...

Btw - it seems as if ichiro is trying to start a competion with ducati about the most sigs out there 8)
Julien: From memory the Ducati series definitely has more sig pairs out there...in excess of 10 pieces i believe, whereas Ichiro only has 5 Official releaed pairs....

That said...Ichiro is only 1 very talented man but Ducati has a team of several very talented Riders across the SBK and Moto GP series....I see your point on how well Oakley 'treats' Ichiro though...

This might be early days....but anyone got the full pricing on the item yet?? Or is it like Ed has mentioned earlier its around the $550USD range??

That's pretty cool. But I don't remember Ichiro wearing Oakleys in any WBC. I thought they played all night games or indoor games. I could be wrong. I did see him wearing them at BP against Chi Sox.

Interesting frame choice. I think Carbon/Slate would have looked pretty nice. I know he isn't a fan of Carbon, but the X-Metal frame isn't exactly light in colour.

That must have a converted Japanese price. I don't think Oakley would jack the price up super high just because of exclusivity. especially since it's just off-the-shelf parts with laser engraving
