I saw a list somewhere and that was the only Ti-framed colorway... at least for now. If they sell well, I'm sure O will try another color or two.

In another thread Defender mentioned that these were coming: http://www.o-review.com/forum_detail.asp?ID=148&StartNum=9 (last post)

Nice to see pics of them.

heaviest of all the wires, but not quite up to X-Metal weight. Maybe a hair less than Penny

I dunno, i dont find X-metals heavy at all but i just cant take the spikes, maybe it has to do with the contact on the nose but i swear X-metals are lighter. Ad do you wanna get your scales out again?

Yeah, I can handle the Spikes but a lighter version would be a lot nicer.

Stop being a wimp Lex, take the pain and wear your Spikes!

Funny this has come up (and I don't know why sunglasses weights haven't been discussed more in the past) - but when it comes to weight reduction nothing beat titanium.

Can't comment on Spikes but for Square Wire 2.0 S/H, a C5 pair weighs in at 28.5 grams and a titanium pair is only 18 grams. Be interested in the comparison for the spikes.

The reason Lex mentioned it is that in the past I weighed a number of pairs and documented the results here, I'm sure you can dig out the thread with a bit of search

edit: here it is: http://www.o-review.com/forum_detail.asp?ID=956

Yeah Lex they do look pretty cool on you. The Polished Black frame looks awesome!

Shame you are such a cry baby, what are you going to do with them now? One for the collection, or sell/trade up for the Ti version?

lex, they look smashing on you. at least they fit you... i wanted so bad to be able to wear the Spikes but again the cold hard fact that my finicky head and face thinks otherwise.

Man Lex, is that the Polarized VR28 one? Id love to have those. Let me know if youd like to get rid of them for anything else.

Being on the subject of Ti frame, I tried those Whisker Ti and they weight nothing at all, very cool.

Could someone throw up a side by side shot of the Spikes and Gascans? Would you believe my local dealers still don't have Spike, and they are looking better and better to me.

Just broke out the scales: Regular Spikes weigh in at a sturdy 53g and the Ti versions a slightly more svelte 33g. And for the record the Ti/Ti Polarized crosshairs weigh in at 23g.

Regular C5 Spike

Ti Spike

Ti Crosshair

some extras

I also tried for a side by side shot with the gascan but none of them came out very well, I need a bit more room (and less clutter!) If no one else can help out with these I'll try and reshoot them.
