Cool packaging is one of my many weaknesses. So that does have my attention. The thing about the color-way is that I can just see them dropping a crazier color-way right after I would buy these because of the case. LOL. I can respect the aesthetic of the semi-monotone presentation of the case and frame together. They could've achieved that though using a more vibrant color though. Perhaps it has something to do with the frame material(s)? Do we even know what it is made of? Ti, BiO-Matter, C5, etc? I will say that this has a futuristic, sterile, space, astronaut feel to it IMO. Which might be what they were going for with this color-way/version/initial release.

Do you know the timeline for the regular release and possible starting colors?

There's been a video of these up on Facebook from a Canadian Optican since before Christmas. They state that only 10 made it to Canada for sale so I'll assume the quantities are pretty low, like 100-150?

No, there should be more than that. I don’t know how many, but there should be more than that. The wholesale accounts (even the big ones) don’t always have a glimpse into the online/e-commerce numbers or the boutique distributions.

Once again the limited edition/release proving that if you don't have connections to get said items then you must not be a true Oakley fan. So good luck to all of us - who must be fair weathered fans since we don't have an in - who have been following the brand for the last 33+ years.

Said perfectly. Oakley's development was always athlete centered with consumers in focus. Now everything is influencer focused. I get it, send out 30 pairs of prototypes and get millions of dollars in targeted marketing for free. It's a bummer that a very small number of people who have a lifetime passion and commitment to the company get a shot at this new stuff (if they want it) because of all the hype and high prices.
