I recently sent my juliets to Oakley to have the lenses switched and asked them to take a look at the loose orbital. The sent me a replacement frame which made me quite happy until I spotted it was quite loose (as I mentioned in a previous thread). Called customer service who said "dont worry about it".
So about a week later I went sailing out in the North Sea and took my juliets along for the ride. About an hour in and everything was fine until I went to take my Juliets off. I started to pull them off one-handed when something gave way and I saw everything but the earstem I had ahold of rushing towards the sea. I reached out to get it and lost the earstem as well.
My Juliets currently reside in Davy Jones' Locker.
Has anyone ever had an x-metal "give out" on them. I assume it was the steel screw as opposed to the titanium that gave way but I cant be certain.
I called Oakley as the frame was only just over a week old and of course was greeted by something I should have expected.
"your Juliets broke, ummmm Oooooooo K, if you say so". I am currently waiting on the customer service manager (Mark) calling back but they didnt sound as if they were going to do much about it as I dont have any proof. Like I have a video camera pointed at my sunglasses 24/7. I sent him an e-mail explaining how much of an Oakley nut I am hoping he will give me the benefit of the doubt. Even if he just sent my old frame back I would be happy.
Has anyone got any ideas as to what I should do.
Scoob, anyone you suggest I talk to.
Thanks in advance guys.
Sorry for taking up so much space but I had to vent and thought this was the perfect place.
you'll never get the old ones back because they just get thrown into a pile with all the other ones. You're going to here "Oakley warranty does not cover lost or stolen product". Even if they broke they need the glasses to show that. So unless your a really good scooba diver, you not going to get anything from oakley customer servce.
That's a real shame bro. I would have probably dived in after em (and drowned) like Anthony said. :) Look on the bright side.. now you've got a tale of Oakley & the Sea to tell the grandkids.
That Sucks so bad William....The rarest thing to happen to an x-meatl and It happens while your on the water.
For your sake I really hope Oakley shoes some Heart.....
Thanks guys, its not all bad news. My wife has taken such pity on me that we are going on an O spree tomorrow. Wont know until it comes time to actually lay down the cash but it looks like HI Blue fours, Eye Jacket 3.0 Metallic Black/Grey, e wire 2.1, black iridium/grey fours (for her), and pearl/black iridium eye jackets (b'day present for brother in law).
I dont usually accept pity but in this case I will make an exception. Will let you all know when the deed is done.
