After seeing the comparison pic in the new purchase thread I am really interested in a pair of trenchcoats so I went on to ebay and the prices are around the $170 mark:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15666&item=8193001420&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

IS THIS NORMAL?

Lex, perhaps you could help me?

The white ones kinda remind me of this picture:

I bought that pair for $50, so no, they aren't worth that much. If anything, they're worth retail, or below depending on condition. They retailed for $130 or less I believe.

And that was my sister's reaction too, which led to this picture:

and then

I'm sorry....

I've got 2 pairs of trenchcoats (white (pearl?) and blood). I'm pretty sure they retailed right about the same as the eye jackets. So they shouldn't be more than 90-100 retail, 130 if FMJ (which I think they only made the 7.62 in the trenchcoats).

William, you probably dont wanna pay 170 for them, that dude has been trying to sell his 2 pairs for nealry 2 years, he just keeps putting them on ebay again and again.

your best bet is to look for ones that have been labeled wrongly, 2 of my pairs were called big oakley jackets or something similar,

that persolfan guy does have those 2 and they are mint, cos i bought my snow jungles from him ages ago. so he is legit.

ive been seeing a few on ebay recently and the most common seem to be blood and pearl.

my faves are black gold and FMJ 7.62 but the FMJs are fookin rare, specially in mint.

so if you really want a pair get the black golds from persolfan cos at least you know you will be getting a mint pair, and black gold is gorgeous.
but if not its just a waiting game on ebay, but most people dont call them trenchcoats when they are selling so its just luck when you find a pair.

i didnt see that, but those are the pearls which arent as nice anyway, so the black golds are still a great purchase,
heres what they look like in real life.

Anyone interested in a pair of snow camo trenchies? (No this is not my listing) I made this guy an offer of $50, but I had to back out due to some other expenses (and I already have a pair of snow camo trenchies). I'm sure he'll accept if you make him a similar offer. He's listed them as "never-been-worn". Good luck!

Maybe 'cause it was the 7.62. That's the first pair I ever remember seeing.

Dude, if you like them, you should buy them. There aren't anymore out there and they are a bad ass piece of history. My second pair of Oakleys ever were a blood pair of trenchcoats and I was able to pick up a pair of pearl ones a few years back. Stoked to have them in my collection.

Maybe 'cause the exchange rate for GBP vs USD is (approximately) 2:1.

Don't see too many with the matching box in perfect condition like that. Nice. Wish my snow jungles had a mint box like that!
