i know this was posted a few months ago but its confirmed

monday i tried to order a couple pair of 128mb thumps

for a customer

oakley told me that they were no longer in production and as of june they will be releasing a 512mb version. they are still in the dark on the color combo's for the new thump.

they will lower the price on the 256mb but they are not sure at what price though

i spoke w/ my rep later that day about maybe/hoping that they keep the 128 and sell them for like $200-$250.i hope that happens. our thump sales will triple. way more affordable for the average customer.

That's top notch. Great news. I was waiting for the Red Camo Thumps to drop to $200-250 on eBay before pulling the trigger. I thought it'd be another year, but it looks like it may be sooner than that. In the meantime, I'm looking toward the arrival of my 128MB Thumps (though a very special exclusive version of it) on Monday or Tuesday and will get the 512MB Thump in the far future.

Which begs the question, can I upgrade my 256 to 512 since I already paid the $550 for it.

Now I question what we'll get at SGH? We only have SKUs for a few 128s and a few 256s, but not all of them. If they go and drop the prices, hell, I'll have by mid summer then.

I knew it would be a sticky situation putting something as timeless as Oakleys together with the "changes monthly" world of electronics but it looks like we'll be the beneficiaries of that. I still wish that they could make the lens sets interchangable though. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do.

I agree with O.T.T. I would probably go for the 128mb white camo model :)

I'm with you on the White Camo Eric, but I'm definitely jumping on the 512 when they'll come out! Can't wait to see the colors !

I'm just waiting to see how all this plays out. I'll def nab a 128 at the right price through my work.

I've been meaning to ask, and this seems to be as good a time as any; do Thumps fit Asian faces well, or are there version out there for 'em? I mean they're available in the Japanese market after all...

nice, i'll be after some 128 white camos then, i bet the new colors will be as drab as the other recent stuff, what do you know fp? polished aluminium and fire or at least ice would be good...
