I haven't been given the OK to post pics just yet, but I'm allowed to share the name at the very least. I'm sure one of you may be able to find a pic somewhere. Is it cool? I think it's more on the "out there" side of things compared to the other Fall releases such as Castel and Hydra. If you like the stylings of Plazma, chances are you'll like the stylings of Kaast as well. The most interesting colourway is Verve Space Dust/Prizm Sapphire. - Oak
Posted on OF now.
I never thought about them having granny glasses cues, but now that it has been mentioned, I can't un-see it. :'-)
I'm just glad Oakley is putting out an attempt at cool eyewear without it being a shield. I mean, I like the Xeus, Kato, Sub Zeroes, M Frame re-releases and Razor Blade (re-releases or kid frames) and I know stuff like the Sutros and Radars are super popular, but there is so many shield releases I can be interested in. I was begging for a cool duel lens release. Or more specifically, more frame. We get Oakley can make lenses; more frame, please!
JP, I agree about the Spider-man/Venom comment! I thought it looked slightly superhero-ish as well (like how the Ducati New Zero reminded me of Soundwave's eyes). As a buyer of the Hideo Kojima x JF Rey Ludens Mask, I'm in that superhero eyewear phase these days. - Oak
I don't mind most of it, but those granny glasses accents on the hinge sort of ruin it for me. - Dann
pretty interesting model. basically the physiomorphic lens in a frame - obsession
Not only that, but the curves on the frames are sculpted to line up with the lenses (such as with the nose area), and the lens retains the nosebomb hooks, so the nosebombs attach to the lens rather than the frame. - Oak
These things are much better-looking IRL. They are basically using the Kato as the lens blank so the nose piece still attaches to the lens instead of the frame and you can actually see a bit of the “beak” when you look at them up close. - Defenderoftheo
