Well, there goes the Texas exclusivity:( - mlmguitar50

Think about all the Texas lovers who aren't in Texas :) - qlr1

That's true :) And hey, maybe they'll release the California one Steve Blick was wearing around the pits of the Amgen Tour of California with the bear for peeps too! But I'm still holding my breath for a Texas flag hard case!

Apparently, Oakley found some Eyepatch 2 lenses. They're up on the site $50/60 for nonpolarized and $80/90 for polarized

I think they did that just to make us miss the vault.com again. They had some great Eyepatch lenses up there for dirt cheap for a long time.

Haha... Those were the good old days of not too long ago.

I didn't pick up any. I'm actually content with what I have (BIP, Violet, Tungsten from EP1)

Didn't know if anyone saw this but you can now get Matte Green and Matte Bkack/Grey Camo "exclusively" on the OCP page online. Unfortunately, it's only available right now for the Frogz and Holbrooks though.

I had no idea Oakley sold Gigclée art

Also I spotted some Sliver F lenses up for grabs.

The giclees was available previously for one of the holidays and was eventually removed. We thought they simply sold out but it appears not. it came back on Oakley.com not too long ago, along with the Penny version.

I definitely am not hip to the website like yall lol... Hell, I whiffed on the Woodgrains with Prizm. I ordered something else, oh well.

Don't feel bad Q, no one is hip to any internet site like Oak. He was the inspiration for Neo in The Matrix.

I haven't seen this yet. Looks pretty good but I don't think it offers anything beyond what the OR database already has outside of visual detail at the moment. Maybe it will improve over time. I noticed that while the G30 and G40 variants are included, the VR series is totally absent.

Perhaps if they keep it up to date. This is actually one of the things that always disappears when they update their site, so nice to see it back.

I didn't notice the G40. It is called something else other that G40? I'm a little bummed they don't have the lens transmissions listed for all of them though.

I meant the OO lenses only since the base is G40. I think the OO series is such an unfortunate name.

I would like some more detail as well, but I have noticed that the VLT rates are kind of all over the place when they are listed on the site. Here's hoping that if they do include transmission rates, the numbers are tight and consistent.

In fact, someone ought to go back and check that data a bit better overall. When specifications for lenses are included near the bottom, i've seen the 'base lens color' for some lenses to be off. Fire Iridium is listed as "orange" when I thought it was amber, VR28 is listed as "bronze", G30 and OO are both "rose", Ice is listed as "blue", Ruby is listed as "red", etc. It's not ALL the lenses, but it seems like some of the info was just guessed and never fixed.

All base colors should also be lenses in their own right. So Bronze is okay, but orange is too vague. G30 and OO are different lenses, so rose wouldn't be correct. I assume this is all due to the fact that it's only relevant to us fanatics, and not the general public.

I tend to go by the old tech sheets, and then for modern lenses, I gather the information of various sources. Oakley does have the info, they just don't always release it. And with things like the Prizm, they've gone out of their way to not release transmission numbers since it's the frequency balance that is of interest, not the total amount of light.

As I wrote that I felt I probably obsessed just a bit too much. I know it really doesn't matter (or at least, it shouldn't matter) but data out of place is like nails on a chalkboard.

I think they should keep this lens guide and improve on it. Maybe even incorporate some interactive elements of that training app for visual appeal. This is really how Oakley should sell their eyewear, especially to first timers - lenses first.

At least to sway the people who buy beaters on eBay and then pop in walleva lenses because the mirror color is the top priority, and Oakley didn't happen to have that option stock.

Good point Dann on Prizm. The frequency for Prizm is what is impressive about those lenses. I use and plan to use them for their intended purpose. There are days though where I'm picking a lense based on just lighting conditions. After all of these years I'm still learning what is best and/or what I prefer for full sun/partial sun/overcast/etc. That's one reason I always find the transmission numbers extremely useful. I loved the Oakley View app that was released a few years back. I still use it today. More so for the novelty, since it's pretty outdated at this point. I wish they'd release a new one.

The terminology they are using sounds exactly like the designations used in Sunglasses Hut stores. Lens descriptions of Red, Orange, Blue, Gold replace Ruby, Fire, Ice and Tungsten. In this case, I'm just explaining it away with another blame finger pointed at LUX. :)
