So far these things rock! They are light but feel pretty darn solid for a rimless design. I haven't owned them long so I hope the screws stay tight. The shocks in the temples are pretty clever IMO. These are probably the best fitting pair of oaks I have so far, they are perfect on me.

These are just plain cool, living in the Seattle area it's good to have a pair of dark weather glasses and the ti clear lenses fit that bill perfectly. I have only experienced ghosting while looking at the TV, so for me it's a non issue. I don't get why someone would complain about a CLEAR lens being no good in the sun, they obviously didn't get the memo. I am looking forward to wearing these in more formal, low light occasions as they pop up. The why 8.0 is a beautiful addition for any collection, I highly recommend them.

Edit: Wore them to a wedding a few weeks ago and they were perfect for that occasion.

Ok, so admittedly, these are my girlfriend's O's. If you've got an oversize noggin like me, this pair isn't for you. I was hesitant about buying her a frameless piece due to any possible 'wiggling' issues, but no way, the quality is still at 100% with this one. Very tight frame, no wiggling. The Gold/Gold combo is very rich and classy. She wears them everywhere, always gets complements about them.

These are "Rock Star" shades. They look and feel very cool but like most people say here they are very delicate and can be high maintainence. For special occasion type use. They scratch easily too. For those that want that glamor look these would be the ones.

Extremely light and comfortable to wear, these, like square wires look awesome paired with office wear, its surprising how long you can wear them for without even realising they're on you, the only downside is they can feel a little fragile when you close the arms on taking them off and light seeping in from the sides but otherwise coverage is very good

Second pair, so I'm easing into the Oakley experience quite nicely. I like the lightness of these frames. I also like how understated these are, and the look of strength they have with no frame. The gray lens is also one of my favs. The matte black seems powder coated, and I am a bit leary of it, thinking it might scrath easier than others, but that remains to be seen. This is what happens when Oakley decides to do classy. The earstems & lightness help keep it put on my head. I have nothing bad to say about these...

These have to be the most comfortable Oakleys I own. Very Lightweight. These are definately my GO TO pair, when I can't decide what to go with. Polarized lens is awesome. Only downside for my face, is that the lens could be a little bit bigger (hence the 8.1)

I love the Ti Clears. These are so extremely light. Its amazing. I think these would be better for some sort of fashion statement though. I don't think these really are good for use with the intent on blocking the sun. They still look pretty nice.

They look great on my wife. Not as big and edgy as the 8.2, but a great wire.

very upscale and dressy pair of sunglasses. the Polished Chrome/Titanium Clear combo is much more fashion oriented than functional, but they look great nevertheless when combined with the fancy design of the Why 8.0. i like the lens shape of the Why 8.1 better, but then the shallower lenses on the 8.0 fits more confortable. like Dan-E says, these are the ones to wear on a special occasion.

One of the better colorways available for the very comfortably-fitting Why series, these are very classy looking, at least according the to saleslady who told me to try them on and I agree. Definitely the wires to wear if you're gonna be dressing up for a special occasion.

I looked fabulous on my wedding day in these. The Ti lens offers very little protection, but it does have a slight reflective quality. It is a bit on the dainty side, you have to be very careful with it. I have worn mine once or twice and I had to have the screws retightened. Rimless frame doesn't work well for the wide-headed folks I have seen pairs with stress cracks at the mounting screws. Make sure they fit you if you are thinking of buying them.

I had it, it looked nice but way too fancy

Owned them for about a month now, and am very happy with them. Getting used to seeing the mounts for the nose piece through the lenses takes a few minutes to get used to whenever they are put on, but after that they do not distract. These glasses look classy and fit very well.

re: Matte Black/Dark Grey

My wife bought this set of glasses around the same time I bought the Why 8.1.

The Why 8's have a tapering lens shape that looks classy and sporty at the same time. The matte black and normal dark grey lenses scheme allow one to use these glasses in any situation, even at the workplace. On my wife's rounder face, the shape of the lenses does work well, and even though her head is smaller, it stays put which is a first for any pair of sunglasses.

Of course, being rimless, it won't survive being dropped as well, so I would say that this is more "streetwear" than "sportswear". However, it uses the same Oakley technology with the same stems, metals, and lenses that the non-rimless ones use.

So, if you want a pair of everyday glasses suitable for everyday situations, from sporty events, to even near formal events, and like the Oakley feel and quality, the 8's with this grey lens and black frame should be a staple in your Oakley arsenal.

Finally got these last week for my dad after he asked me to help him look for some nice rimless sunglasses he could wear to work. Simply put, the Why 8.0's are quite a beauty; simple in it's design, yet classy. As courtjezter has mentioned already, these glasses will definitely match and make you look good in formal-wear. I'll give it a 4 however, because I just personally don't trust the durability of rimless glasses; it just looks a tad too fragile (which is an odd opinion of mine considering these ARE Oakley's I'm talking about).

these are my current faves. the large nose bridge and protruding temple supports took some time to get used to, but awesome to wear around because they're fashionable and functional. I've always tried to look for a pair of O's that look good with a suit and tie; something that doesn't seem out of whack with the whole outfit. I found it in the why 8.0.
