Lenses for the Fives 3.0 and Five Squared are identical. New Fives (aka Fives 4.0) use a completely different lens shape and will not fit in any other frame. Hope that helps!

Here goes, stick with me...

All twin-lens/spherical versions utilize Transitions photochromic technology (aka "Activated by Transitions" or "Transitions SOLFX"). These lenses can be identified by the Transitions "swirl" logo engraved on the lower left corner.

Transitions technology is currently incompatible with a toric shield lens geometry (ala Radar), therefore these lenses utilize Oakley's own photochromic technology instead of Transitions. These lenses can be identified by the word "PHOTOCHROMIC" engraved in the lower left corner.

From a performance standpoint both technologies achieve class-leading characteristics that far surpass the competition, including fast activation and fadeback, minimized environmental sensitivity, and excellent durability. They both rock.

The fire is now charging down the stretch of brush and trees across Glenn Ranch Rd (directly west of the building). They've issued an evacuation order to employees. Wind direction is still favorable but it's damned close right now.

Gotta go...

The hillside all around Oakley HQ is currently on fire, here are some photos taken this morning:

Fire crews are posted up all along Glenn Ranch Rd. adjacent to Oakley battling the blaze and trying their best to keep homes and businesses in the area safe. Check out OCRegister.com or the Orange County Fire Authority website for more details:

TB serial numbers are specific to each colorway, I have #166 in the Polished Ti/Ti version myself.

It's been said that specific serial numbers were reserved for key athletes, Jordan would get #23 for instance. Which means that most 2-digit serials are even more collectible.

ok, here's the deal on the "new" Razorblade. It's been updated/upgraded to incorporate current technology (optically correct toric lens and next generation O Matter frame for example) while staying true to the original styling. There are a couple of less noticeable updates as well, such as the metal icons (but rendered in the classic font) and snap-in nosepiece (like the new Zero), but for the most part the idea is to accurately recreate the original piece that put Oakley on the map. It's not a Razorblade 2.0, it is THE Razorblade. It even comes in the original clear box with "Thermonuclear Protection" under the logo!

Personally, I think it's the sickest f***ing thing Oakley has produced since Overthetop, and I would argue that it takes way more guts to reintroduce Razorblades than it does to make something "crazy" like O.T.T. This style was ground breaking and defined an era, they were a true icon (no pun intended) of the '80's and spawned a legion of copycats. Sunglasses were never the same after Razorblades.

By recreating Razorblades Oakley is proving that they're proud of their heritage and they have a sense of humor. If you don't get it, then they're not for you.

The rad thing is, they're only going to be available through core accounts like surf/skate and MX shops, plus O Stores. These are targeted at kids that weren't even born when the first Razorblade came out, but ironically they'll probably appeal to Camaro-driving, mullet-haired red necks (not that there's anything wrong with Camaros or mullets) who've been waiting two decades for Oakley to bring them back. It's brilliant!

If you don't like it then that's fine, but I'm buying one and I'll be wearing it with a smile on my face.

One of my prized posessions is this autographed photo of "The Nuge". You have to appreciate the coordination between his zebra striped Bronco, jacket, and Razorblades.

I use the same USB cable for my Thump, Rio Carbon, and Creative Jukebox mp3 players. They all have identical connections. As for your digi-cam I can't really say for sure, but if it looks like the same connector then it probably works.

Those are definitely NOT genuine Oakley lenses in those frames, meaning no XYZ optics and a major headache if you wear them for more than a few hours. Personally I'm not willing to sacrifice my eyes for the sake of fashion.

Plus you run the risk of looking like some of the cross-eyed folks who wore those Opti-Grab glasses in the movie "The Jerk".

I saw these at the bike trade show in 2003, I was laughing my ass off! I mean it's one thing to rip off a popular idea, but quite another to put time and money into stealing a design with an extremely limited market. I'd be shocked if the company sold more than 100 of these things.
