Will buy RacingJackets. Will buy black Gascans.
The vintage stuff is Oakley to me. All the new stuff is fluff pure and simple.

They look like cheap Oakley knock-offs.
Pro M-Frame and RJs all the way.

I`m thinking of the past few years of Tamiya-hype when i read this thread. Especially the massive hype around the old 3-speed Toyota Bruisers/Mountaineers and HiLuxes. Check what people are paying for these kits/cars on eBay.

I really hope that the guys hating other brands just because they are "other brands" are kidding, joking, not serious. Otherwise that would be a very nice showcase of prime american redneck behaviour.

I`m not surprised at all. The truth is often somewhere between the marketing and the negativists.

" Indeed. It's quite hard to keep from smiling when you notice people staring at you. Knowing that you have the coolest damn shades on the planet..."
Hmm... coolet? OTT aren`t cool, they are just plain strange. IMO of course.

Interesting to see that not all are completely, 100% sold on everything emblanozized with the O. I agree with someone above who said that Oakley need to step back and examine it`s roots and comeout with a pair of hardcore sportsglasses. They got their sunglass-business started with sunglasses with a purpose. Sports and colorful Oakleys where synonymous with eachother. The Eyeshield, the Blade and RazorBlade, and of course the M-Frame which led to the super Pro-M Frame and the fantastic RacingJackets. Sunglasses who had a purpose to it`s design.
Like i`ve said before, i feel that Oakleys designs nowadays are just repetitions from the last year. Like MBA said when they reviewed the Minute (i think):
"Somebody at the Oakley-headquarters forgot to turn on the coolnes-gas when they put it in it´s case".
Tons of different bland and ho-hum framestyles and billions of different lenstints... In the good old days you had RazorBlades and Mumbos/M-Frames and that was it. Eyewear with a purpose.
Also, i feel that Oakley has diversified itself from it`s core business in a rather extravagant way. Clothes, shoes, various paraphernalia... It all could be done in a tasteful, sublime way but i feel that Oakley has devalved it`s own brand because of this.

Yeah Fred, i know O Europe is located in France, hell, we`re O-collectors aren`t we?
I guess it didn`t come through, but what i wanted to say is that i wonder where i got that brochure from originally since i live in Stockholm, Sweden and haven`t been to France ever. Do you understand now?

Hi all. I was rummaging through my attic yesterday and tried to get thing organized, when i found stacks of my aold car-, bike- and sportsmagazines along with a bunch of vintage bicyclebrochures. And then i found these.
In all their glory.
A pair of doublettes and another zero-brochure.
A pair of doubles again... wonder where i got these from? Soem vintage litterature there...
Blades-brochure in french too... Really wonder where i got that from...
Anyways, thought you guys would appreciate to see all kinds of Oakley. Paper too. =)

Rick: Interesting thoughts. For some reason i think of the infamous Muhammed-caricatures when i read your post. The same could be said on that issue too.

I`ve been wanting to do that since i saw a dude with RX-Wires back in, oh it must`ve been 13-14 years ago. I`m 30 so i think, hope!, I`ll have some fashion-leeway... =)
