If their competitors really wanted to know the material makeup all they would have to do is buy the Juliets get a metallurgist to run a test.

Here's my best guess,

X-Metal: 90% Titanium, 6% Aluminum, 4 % Vanadium

^ In the pair(s) used in the movie the lenses are very dark and not mirrored, so they must be either warm gray or dark gray, right? Isn't black iridium pol mirrored?

Gold and black frames are the only one's that have the darkest lenses, so unless they were custom for the movie they might be the gold sanded down?

^Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah, I read that before but thought I'd ask again and see if there's an official answer. Today i received my Inmates in chrome/VR28 BI...super nice but look nothing like the one's in the movie.

Anyone know with certainty which model of Oakley "Inmate" sunglasses Denzel Washington is wearing in Book of Eli? My guess is gold frames and dark gray lens combo but it's hard to tell from the film being so desaturated in color.

The xmetal case that came with my x-squared was another thing caught my attention. It was not built as how the old X metal cases were built. Then I found a small sticker that said "Made in China"... just explains everything. =(
What exactly is different from the old case? I used to have one but can't seem to find anything obvious.

nobody talks about the backpack he's wearing in the movie O_o
In Book of Eli he's wearing the Panel Pack in sheet metal.

Well, after having to return two pairs of XS's back to Oakley for loose lenses my third pair seems to be defect free. This time I ordered them from backcountry.com. Lenses are tight and the seal on the Oakley box was not cut (unlike the first pair from Oak). It's almost like Oakley sends out their best glasses to their vendors and keeps all the not so good one's to sell themselves. This is my second x-metal from backcountry.com. I've bought shoes from them also. Great customer service and returning merchandise is so much easier than Oakley.

Book of Eli, great movie but can anyone tell which frame color was used for the Inmates? It's got to be either polished chrome or gold.

i just got my first x squared in the mail today. I bought the x-metal ruby combo. I had never seen one in person before recieving it and i am im impressed. i actually like it even more than i thought i would and i am really impressed with the fit. I think this is a great addtion to the x-metal family.
Any loose lenses?

Well, I returned the ebay X2's last week and yesterday I received the X2's glasses from Oakley and these lenses are even more loose than the previous...arghhh!!! You can actually see the left orbital move forward and backward somewhere between a 1/32" to 1/16"...way to loose IMO.

I'm going to try one more pair of X2's. Oakley was very nice over the phone and is rushing them to me. We'll see how it goes but I'm betting there's going to be a bunch out there with excessively loose lenses.

I like them. Wasn't totally blown away at first but they're growing on my really quick. The X2's kinda make my Juliets looks a little dated. The frames are much thinner than Juliets especially the ear stems. They are soo thin right at the midway point (damn oakley). The stems length are also considerably shorter but the ends are feathered out (unlike the Juliets) for better comfort. I would have preferred slightly thicker stems but these still flow well with the frame overall.

The lens shape is dead on. It's got more wrap than the stock photo depicts but looks awesome. The extra coverage works well for my face. They are not tighter than Juliets. My Juliets have hardly ever been worn so I can say the X2's are no tighter, maybe even slightly looser fittings. The X2's are very comfortable and fit well.

The biggest complaint I have was that one of my lenses must have been a tad loose cause it's making a slight rubbing sound if I squeeze the frame a little. I thought you only heard this on the plastic framed glasses. Also my box was beat up so I'm returning them (ebay) and ordering directly from Oakley.

Just ordered the x squared in x metal/ruby and I'm excited about the larger coverage. I love my juliets for sure but they've always been a little small for my face.

Mine are 4 years old, so I assume they're out of warranty? Ok, so if I want to take care of this should I send them to Oakley myself or do I take them to my local O-store for immediate replacement lenses?

Anyone think $325 is a fair price for x-metal/ruby penny at the local o-store? Last one...still in the display case.
