The xmetal case that came with my x-squared was another thing caught my attention. It was not built as how the old X metal cases were built. Then I found a small sticker that said "Made in China"... just explains everything. =(

What exactly is different from the old case? I used to have one but can't seem to find anything obvious.

how big are the lenses compared to XX? I hope we can see some Chop Doctor models :-)

(shops around here don't have a clue when they're getting the X-Squared so I havent had a chance to compare them for real)

I believe the old cases were also made in china...Most of the accessories and items outside of the actual eyewear are made there.

As for the lenses, I didn't measure them up to XX, so Mike could better answer that but they are bigger than a Gascan by a couple milimeters in height.

Sorry to break this to you but it has nothing to do with that - hard cases have had that lil' sticker forever

Though it often falls off, so that's perhaps why you hadn't seen it before.

They (OAKLEY) altered/updated this hard case basically making it a lil' bigger, thus allowing larger frames to fit.

The x metal xx lens can't be used for the x squared (at least, just from my quick comparison) They're very similar in size, but the xx has that upwards curve on the bottom outer portion that the x squared stays well, more squared.

I'll dig out some lenses and check closer later on, but that's what it looks like with the glasses just sitting here in front of me.

with that lack of curve in mind, do you think custom lenses can be cut from an M-Frame Heater?

Should be able to.

I'm not sure which lens Josh used to cut the +red polarized for me, but I think it was from a women's style.

My jade lens was cut from a radar path lens.

maybe, but doubtful. I think Hijinx, Radar (xl & range), and Strike probably are best suited. It is a really odd curve too, so have fun for those who decide to cut them!!

Nice +Reds!

Went to the Oakley store on the Gold Coast and to check out the X Squared. WOW! My next purchase for sure. I was amazed at how light they were. They looked pretty good on my fat head too!

They had a X-Metal/Ruby set and the lenses were amazing.

It may be just me but the new X metal cases seem to bend easier than the old ones. It has a different angle on the hinge part of the case.

Great work on the Jawbone lenses! Im planning to get a plasma X-squared to get the TIO2 =P
