Totally agree with you there - an excellent group of folks and as noted, the items were way beyond cool. Almost had the wife go again when she was in Vancouver this past week, but it was all closed up by then.
Thank you'defender 'for the pub trivia i can now amaze all my customers with this knowledge!!.. on a side issue did any one see schumacher at the bahrain gran prix in oil rigs... he's finally getting the vibe ;) !!!
I was fortunate enough to have tried on both versions of the csix. As for the look, I have to go with the aluminum version. The machine work is so different to any and everything else. I was in vegas at the new city center and they have a sunglass store(high end) in the arium hotel that carried both versions. The only problem with the aluminum version is that they would not fit my head. I even got the ok to purchase them from my lady, but they wouldn't fit. Now as for the carbon fiber version... priceless. Fit was great, because unlike the aluminum version, they flex and mold so well to my head. The problem with the cf version was when my wife heard the price tag, her exact words were "no f#cking way"(lol). Now if they are still available by say june/july, I will have a pair for sure! I took pics with my phone of the cf version and when I upload them on my computer, u guys will see them. I'm in love with the carbon fiber pair. So cross your fingers for me and click your heels 3 times, because if available by june/july, I will have them hopefully if things go as planned for me!
Does the cf version fit wider? One thing I was surprised about with the Al version is the fact that it's narrower than I thought it'd be. The PB fits like a glove, but when I tried on the Al C Six it was so tight I had to work to even get it on. It felt as tight as an original Minute on my face, but without the flex.
The cf version is almost identical to the alum. version, except for material. The cf version molds more to my dome, while the alum. version is extremely stiff and unforgiving to those of us with melons instead of pears! The look of the alum. version is stunning compared to the cf version, but the cf version is just more exotic in my eyes. I'm the kind of guy that likes the simple but exotic, instead of flashy and yeah it's expensive look! If available by june/july I will have them!
They feel like they were made to fit wider faces, but I think it's the flex of the material. I'm posting a video on youtube.com it's real quick, but you get to see the csix up close on a melone size head! Search csix desire! Go now!
Entitled: "CSIX" on youtube now! 47 seconds long, but you get the chance to see them. Video quality is not great it was taken with my phone, but enjoy!
Oak your horrible man. Money(cash not plastic) is not right just yet, but it will be! If only they still have some available. I love the CF version and if I take care of business then you'll be seeing me rock them. Wish me luck for June(that's 2 months Oak).
I almost just forgot about them being $4000, but after seeing Irichio on Oakley.com, it made me desire them even more. Now I must have them at all cost! Just a matter of time.
Hey Oak, do you wear the boots or display them? For me I think they will only be for display purposes. If you've worn them, what's the comfort level like?
They're doing neither right now. I haven't had a chance to wear them out and I haven't displayed them yet. I did try them on and they're comfortable. Stiff and heavier than previous versions due to the added materials. The build quality on first impression is excellent. Sole is stiched on rather than glued on, which eliminates the quality issues of some of the previous versions. It approaches Danner boots level of quality. Those who love any version of the SI Assault Boot would go ga ga for this version.
Was just informed that 1-50 have been sold(CF). I wanted #36 because that was my football number through highschool and Auburn Tiger days. To bad, however they are trying to locate #250 of 250. I thought it would be cool to have the last one produced. Best of luck to me!
