I am trying to decide which one to get. I can't get my hands on any of these because they don't carry them at my O store for some reason. We only have reviews for the Tool Box 1.0 (?) on this site, and they are up to 4.0 now. There are some reviews on MTBR.com but they are the older models:

http://www.mtbr.com/cat/accessories/bags/oakley/tool-pouch/PRD_416065_1485crx.aspx and
http://www.mtbr.com/cat/accessories/bags/oakley/oakley-tool-box-backpack/PRD_414488_1485crx.aspx

The Tool Pocket looks like it's pretty much just a hydration sleeve. The Tool Pouch comes with a Moflow and is $90, whereas you have to buy your own cammelpack bladder for the Tool Box ($100).
I want to use this for MTB and snowboarding, so I want it to be small enough not to restrict movement, but large enough to be able to shed a layer store a sweater and maybe a shirt and hat. Can anyone that owns the Tool Pouch comment on how it would function as a snow pack?
Thanks guys.

Well I can tell you this much on the Tool Pouch - I have one for my motorcycle and it works great. Enough room for me to hold what I want and need, but stays tight enough on my back to not cause me issues.
I know it's not quite snowboarding, but I figure some info is better than none at all. =)

Check out the Snow Pack 2.0. It's smaller than a normal backpack, has a hydration sleeve, has multiple pockets, was built to carry a snowboard/skis. It's pretty awesome, and they can be found for less than $75. I got mine off SAC for $60.

I have the Tool Box and have really enjoyed using it. I use it for an everyday backpack, as well as skiing. It is large enough to fit a decent amount of stuff, but not too large to wear while skiing, etc.

What is SAC, Ian? That's a good price. Does the Tool Pouch have enough room for say a fleece, O-Whores?
I'm not sure when I would use the board sleeve in the snowpack because I normally just carry my board the short walk from a cabin or my car to the slopes then use the lifts. I have a regular Burton bag for when I travel with it on a plane or to keep my gear together in my car.

Oh yeah. I've been checking it a lot, but I keep missing the great deals. I look at http://twitter.com/SteepandCheap so I can be disappointed that I didn't happen to check it at 4am and get the $1 Oakley rashguard etc.

Hmm...I would say you should be able to fit a fleece in the Pouch...but probably not much - if anything - else.

I have the tool pouch 2.0. It's really quite small....when the reservoir is full and pumped up with air there really isn't room for much else. A fleece might fit but it will be tight. The pack works good for me on the MTB, I put my iphone in the sunglasses pocket and that puts it in a good place to route the headphone wire. Haven't followed the changes/spces on the 3.0 and 4.0 though so they could be bigger.

if your looking for MTB application,I dont recommend these, I personally use Ergon BD1, comfy and fits perfectly with different sizes and adjustments too , Go for the camelbak M.U.L.E., Ergon BD1 or BD2.or North face Megamouth works too.

Yeah the Camelbak M.U.L.E. ALWAYS comes up in these conversations, always. I've almost bought one a few times but keep wanting to buy an O pack for MTB. So that being said I haven't bought one yet, but I was leaning towards the latest Tool Pouch. Like I said I've almost but a M.U.L.E. before so I know a little bit about them but that was a few years back. Shox why don't you recommend the O packs? Refresh my memory and tell me why the M.U.L.E. is always topping people's list?

I'd love to get one before the spring and actually still am undecided so any feedback would help me as well. Sorry Rob I don't want to derail your thread.

Yel, first of all camelbak started it all, I used a lot of hydration packs since 91', MULE is a compact great design yet you can store a lot(10 liters), great organization inside, easy access, your cellphone or ipod is safe, waterproofing is good too.fits comfortably, 3 liter reservoir, great for day or epic rides. Im currently using the Ergon BD1,check this: http://www.ergon-bike.com/us,so far the best i have used, fits better, little bit bigger (12 liters), suspension is state of the art. more pricey than the Mule.I guess when it come to this, stick to the one's who knows, Oakley focuses on the Aesthetic part of their backpacks and not the application. They should improve in this department if they want to go technical, as they are behind from other manufacturers such as gregory, camelbak, golite, north face etc.
