Using this thread to save from opening a new one ... and I think Ken's proximity to me today has infected me with a woe of my own.

So I busted out the Gentei Frogskins today since it was the first cloudy day in a while. I quickly discovered a QC issue on my frame - one of the 'nubbins' on the hinge was missing/reduced ... so the right earstem doesn't really like to stay connected to the orbitals.

Major bummer, and major issue when crap like this happens on the LE stuff. The thought of invoking that extra warranty card you get on LE stuff really sucks. Luckily, I'm hoping it is still new enough and still available from Gentei to get an exchange. I shot an email off to them tonight, so we will see what tomorrow brings.

you shouldn't have to mail off the card...Just cal customer service, fax or ail a receipt, and you should be set.

That sucks oogie. Luckily, I think the $200 price point has warded off the more rational buyer of Frogskins! Gentei should have some left.

LOL ... ummmmm, yeah, I think we must have stricter pornography laws in the US or something. All I got was a Gentei store card sort of thing. I think you ordered a week or so after mine ... so maybe they went x-rated just after mine shipped.

Yeah, I'm hoping for the best considering it looks like they still have stock on hand. Otherwise, my next best option would just be a straight up return. A warranty claim direct with Oakley is my worst-case scenario ... since that would probably just result with the best option being credit towards a new purchase.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, Oogie. A defect in a low production LE is a collector's worse nightmare. Hopefully you can be able to replace it.
