Sorry for the lateness as well, had to change my original idea last week but its such a good one that I will do it soon to another pair I think; I wanted to use the burnishing polishing machine at work wich has 4000 tiny ceramic balls to gring that monster but I settle for someting more simple in the end:

My first reflex was to use a hammer of course but the horror would not budge, I used needles, a steak knife, spray paint, plyers, and the oven.

We should do that every year I think !

I would like to state that my hands never came directly into contact with the yellow creature, I used surgical latex gloves at all time ! Dont ask about the gloves, and you wont get lies.

Took way more pictures but many were blurried, congrats to all for the ideas and the laughs, thanks Bob, very cool idea !

*Was also tempted to put them in the microwave for 5 minutes at high but tought it might stopped working after that (the microwave that is)

I won't ask about the gloves, but what were the needles for?

Thanks for your posts guys. I've enjoyed them all so far. I guess we can wait one more week to do the voting. Right now, there are 5 entries from the 11 contestants (but anyone with a pair of fakes they want to bust up is welcome).

I would have tried the contest if I've been able to grab a pair of fake plastic O. My blender would have done this prefectly ^_^

I'll still try to find some and do the job.

Well, although there isn't a full ballot, there is still a handful of quality entries for voting. I'm not sure if this contest is worthy of an official poll or not. Dann, if you make one, it would be easier to tally votes, and thanks. If there is no poll established, just post your votes here or PM me and I'll tally them up.

We're voting for the best submission based upon your own personal criteria. Your vote can be for any reason.

Your contestants are:
1) TDM and his Monster Dog, Dexter.
2) crmnjst with a whole heard of horses in the form of a little red chipper.
3) sledelen's epic prose tale of the High X-Metal Council.
4) Racer96 with a dissection and BBQ.
5) TheVault's charbroiled red and yellow cyclopean monster.

Well, after three weeks of waiting, it's finally time for me to close the book on the voting and the contest all together. This is proof that, when voting, you can make a difference. Your vote counts. After tallying up all the votes, the champion narrowly beat out the competition by only one vote. Everyone else got no votes. The winner got one vote. That's right, I received one vote for the whole thing.

The winner is Racer96 with a dissection and BBQ. Congrats!

Thanks to everyone who participated.

Congrats !

The winner got one vote. That's right, I received one vote for the whole thing.
You should have bring up the voting process, I forgot about it, I meant to harass Dann so he could make a poll about it.

Yeah... but there can sometimes be a fine line between reminding everyone and beating a dead horse. It's cool either way, because I got what I came for, beating some dead Foakleys. At the end of the day, that's what matters and it makes us all winners. No voting required.

It was a very cool thing to do for you and pretty fun for us, thanks man.

And the site has been very quiet lately wich could explain in part the lack of responses lately.

Please note, I didn't vote for myself :D

Thanks B3!

And I've also noticed the inactivity on the site lately. It almost makes me sad. :~)

Announcing the 2nd installment of the Foakley BomBARHdment BARHage

After two years of laying low, I think it’s time we organized another sting effort to clean up the streets. We made progress in 2009, but I’m afraid ridding the world of Foakleys may forever be necessary.

The rules are the same as last time, with one exception. I don’t have a stash of supplies anymore, so it will be up to the contestants to BYOF. If you source a pair of Foakleys and want to enter the contest, just make your official entry known with a post here and I’ll add you to the list. Then, it will be up to you to document your destruction however you see fit. Post the results here and we can hopefully have a vote to declare a winner.

The inaugural champion, Racer96, has graciously volunteered to pass the BARHage Plaque to the next voted champion. Mike will put his mark on it, writing his name and the year he won, and do a little destruction to the plaque himself. If it gets passed from winner to winner, it could gain some pretty good character over time.

The contest closing dates will be determined based on interest and involvement. Please keep it safe! Neither the O-Review nor any of its members are responsible for property damage or personal injury sustained during annihilation.

I hereby pronounce the commencement of the Foakley BomBARHdment BARHage Summer 2011!

Sweet video although the title made me think I was going to watch something blow up and I was highly looking forward to that. Fun to watch either way.

Cool video. Looked like a whole lot of fun. I'm shocked how well the lenses held up. The first one split in half it seems, but most lenses would probably split, especially with a bow with a 60 lb pull (I'm just assuming it's at 60, of course). The second lens held up as well as any polycarbonate lens would be expected to.

YES!!! Team o-addicts bringing their A-game!

I love seeing this stuff. Not only did you provide great destruction fodder, but you also proved that those weren't genuine. If those were real O's, the arrow would have stopped mid-flight and headed the other direction out of fear.

Thanks for digging up this old thread. Here was the action the first time around:

If we scrounged up some more entries, we could hold a 5th year contest. No one jumped at the idea in 2011, but our fine archer has certainly sparked a few ideas around the community. Mike's prize for his victorious blaze was a charming basket of bragging rights and this plaque, which he undoubtedly hung over the headboard of his bed

It's our charge in life to make the Oakley world a safer place.

Oak, 70lbs for my compound Hoyt Spyder Carbon
the first lens exploded, the second is completely cracked !

This is where you can see the difference with an oakley lens
The Oakley lens Radar Black Polarized does not explode at 30 yards
