I was just looking at this the other day. It's very well done. Love the accessories, especially the plutonium and case.

Nice. I saw that they had just gone out of stock, but I may have to get it when it returns. I have so much of this, but need a proper place to set it up.

Not a purchase, but a customer gave me a Synology storage center. Going to set up my houses own internal streaming service. (He happened to leave 1400 movies in it too)

Do you plan to use the native apps, DHCP? Or do you plan to Plex?

I have Plex setup on it, but I'm not 100% sold. I already use Kodi on my SkyStream android box, which is connected to a local HD. I setup a regular SMB network path and it pulled my content into that without issue, so I may stick with it. I generate all the metadata anyway with a small freeware program, so it's all organized. Plex keeps crashing on that device too, but works on my phone and laptop. I may just keep both running, since it doesn't hurt.

They are much heavier than I thought they'd be but really comfortable and pretty neat how I can control them with my phone

In the years I've been using Synology for our home's media, there's only been a handful of movie files that I couldn't natively stream from it, and it was the TV's fault every time. I've heard enough bad stories of Plex not working that I've never even tried it. I was just curious how green your side of the fence looked. Thanks for the info.

I use this as my android box: https://www.skystreamx.com/ (The Mark I version, but I also have a Mark III gathering dust since I'm lazy). It comes with Kodi installed, but you can put anything from the Google Play store on it. I bought a wireless mini-keyboard and track pad and got Angry Birds running on my TV.

Then I use this Java freeware program to save the metadata that Kodi wants. It can dial into the MovieDB sites, but I like to keep everything local, especially for the oddball videos that don't have anything online.

Yeah, I guess it makes sense that they are a bit heavier with all the tech that's involved. Very cool man! Congrats!
