I love my Thump, but this looks great.

And $99!! Already ordered mine! I know this would be a great value to those who would rather just wear their other oakleys and have a seperate mp3 player, w/o having to spend a lot of money.

grrr. i don't like ipods and now they're invading the solid state mp3 player market

hilarious that you can't turn shuffle off and it won't tell you what's playing on a screen, and they charge more for it, and they call those "features"

but those are just my opinions. i hope you enjoy it!

Actually, it only shuffles when you turn it to "shuffle"
Kinda like the thump. Except cheaper. With bigger capacity. It weighs less than an ounce, so it's lighter.

I'd rather have the 1gig with a pair of XMetals.

MacWorld happenin' right now in my city. $40 bucks to get in. I wish Oakley would have a convention too. I would even pay $50 to get in to see their latest releases

I think brian said it right when stating his preference of a shuffle and a pair of X-metals over a Thump.

Maybe not quite as ground breaking but it would certainly be more pleasing to the eye.

I am so down with getting an iPod shuffle in the next few months. It's a fancy 1GB flash Memory Stick that plays music. I like my 20GB Jukebox but this would be so cool for just carrying my fav bands for short trips and rides.

I like the small print at the bottom where it says "Do not eat iPod shuffle"

I'll be on the iPod shuffle bandwagon pretty soon. I can't justify a full-fledged iPod considering that's not how I enjoy most of my music, but at that price and storage - awesome. I can also use it to store files easily. Finally, it means money left over for some new rims (for my face, not my car).

i'm also getting an iPod shuffle, and kill two birds with one stone. i need a flash drive, and something small and pocketable when i don't want to use my regular iPod. this one fits the bill. price is right too...

now to decide if i should get the 512MB or the 1G version...

bong, seems $40 doubles your storage, while all other specs stay the same. I'd spring for the Gig. Except I just got a new 40gig...

Maybe just for working out.

yeah... but i'm not a student anymore, so i prolly can't get the $10 discount. however, $50 more for double the storage is still rather temting.

That thing is on fire, the apple store near the Moscone Center had 2000 of them, and quickly sold out of them. Can't wait for mine to arrive.

I showed the Shuffle to my boss who now wants one and also wants to know when I'll be getting mine so we can just order them togehter. I need to wait a few weeks but I will have one. All for the same reasons Bong said.

Actually, Apple offers the discount to students. My University even sells Apple computers through the campus bookstore. And Apple accessories like the Ipods. All with a student discount.

It's easier to see the discount online. They have a section of the store set up for education buyers.

Historically Apple has always been good to students. I remember my second grade class getting donations of Apple IIe's

i could get into the education part of the apple.com store site with no problems using my old college's information... i'm just a bit wary if they find out i'm not a student there anymore. i know... call me paraniod.
