Did anyone manage to make the Calgary artist event?

Met up with the FMR that organized the Unseen Art Collective event today. You're not gonna like this, but most of the artist pairs sold for $100-150 each. Basically under Canadian retail....which is surprising of course. I don't think the attendees know of Taka Sudo and Ben Tour, since they're marquee names in Western Canada.

Anyway, here're some pics of some pairs by Taka Sudo, Ben Tour and Matt Butel...all went for $100:

Really cool stuff by these artists. There was even a steampunk/laser eyes-type pair that went for $150.

Nice. Those models aren't my thing, but it puts a spin on the splatter effect.

The organizers should have shown the artists how to remove the lenses. LOL

But definitely steals at those prices. So sad, but there is definitely cool Oakley things that happen here and there - just a matter of knowing about them, and being lucky enough to be local.

Probably not for a long while for most of them. The three above went to Oakley collectors who don't really sell off their stuff. Another three went to a skateboard enthusiast that needed them for his collection (even has a decent sized skate ramp on his property). The steam punk one is owned by some kid that won't let it go....in fact the FMR's boss tried calling the kid and offered $500 to get it back, but he won't sell. Don't know what happened to the remaining three.

damn! some cool stuff for sure, not wearable stuff though. ha! but pieces of art, definitely. a steal at the 100-150 price range.

Great list. For purely selfish reasons, I always mentally exclude the women's releases. Makes me feel better.

I started, but it almost made me give up collecting Oakley altogether. Got #1, 2 , 3, 4, 5, 6, and gave up #7 for something that totally wasn't an even trade, but I no longer had the complete set, and saved me more in the long run.
