Any Dark Phoenix movie will fail if you don’t:
1. Develop the Cyclops/Jean Grey relationship so that people actually care about them;
2. Have a strong and charismatic lead actress playing Jean so viewers will enjoy watching her(and Cyclops as well, though Marsden was ok in the 1st X-men film).

None of the X-men movies came close to the above, so the key attraction to the story didn’t resonate. It’s like they couldn’t be bothered to lay the foundation before telling the story.

While only a few reviews in, the final X-men movie by Fox (though I suppose New Mutants is coming out eventually), Dark Phoenix, is getting pummelled by critics:

New Mutants got pushed to April 3, 2020 from it's most recent push date of August 2019. Apparently that one was Disney's doing, but not clear as to why. Also interesting given Marvel has a movie, yet to be announced, release scheduled for May 1, 2020.

I think it was delayed because they haven't done their reshoots yet, which is shocking:

I didn’t realize the Avengers: Endgame 4K BRD release had such negative reviews. I guess they didn’t put enough effort in transferring the IMAX stuff properly, which is weird since it was mostly shot in IMAX.

No announcement of a Phase 3 set just yet, but I would expect it to be announced eventually since there were special releases for the first two phases. Give them some time. Phase 3 just finished up a month ago with the current Spidey movie. Speaking of Spidey, I expect the two Spider-man movies will be excluded from the set since the distribution rights is held by Sony, but you never know what clauses are included in the contracts.

When they do announce the box set, it will likely be expensive. I forget the price of the first two sets (the ones that came with the special prop packaging), but they each had 6 movies. Minus the Spidey movies, there were 9 films in Phase 3.

HA! I know Oak, I'm impatient when it comes to the phase 3 box set. I have phase 1 and 2 so I'm anxious on any news about phase 3.

I don't know if they'll do a two disc set, but they'll certainly do a trilogy set after the third movie comes out in Phase 4/5. Then they'll do a collector's set, a sooper dooper collector's set, a 8k set, etc.

Speaking of infinite dipping in these various BRD, BestBuy just released a box set of the Avengers movies in Steelbook and 4k. I would've jump on it had I not already had all the movies with Steelbook already:
