TB is mineral glass/crystal, and yeah, it will scratch pretty easy if you are remotely careless. From what I remember, the only Sapphire glass was on the Michael Jordan Gold model, but that may not be accurate.

Very easily. I've accidentally dropped and kicked my GMT across my drive way face down and not a scratch, but i barely knicked a table and i have a nice scratch in the face of the Timebomb. that is the only thing that i don't like about the watch. You spend all that money on the watch and it has a standard glass face.

Now go home and get your shine box.

I believe No time bombs have a sapphires crystal. At training we were told its because of the curvature on the watch it is impossible to get a sapphires crystal on a time bomb

Jose is dead on. The sapphires crystal when curved like the TB crystal caused magnification.

As far as mineral crystals scratch resistance it is a medium scratch resistance. I can say this my TB case and band are scratched all to hell (I wear it all most daily) but the crystal is fine.

Have to agree with everyone that the TB crystal sratches moderately easily - the main issue is that its soft enough to scratch but also too hard to be able to polish out the scratches (like you can do on cheaper acrylic crystals).

Put a scratch on my TB the first week I had it (but only because I passed out as a result of half a bottle of bacardi..)

The only solution I gots is to keep buying new TBs to keep that new look.... :)

if you nick it up, you can get a new crystal put in for like $50. I have 6 timebombs and i have had to have one crystal replaced and i had it for about 3 years before it scratched(i have had it for 8 years now).
My fav watch in the world!

I've scratched the crap out of the band, but not the crystal...yet.

I don't wear my TB or Icon that much though.

Let me ask you guys if the x-metal TB is also easy to scratch too? Or is just the one made of steel?

I've found the Polished Titanium is relatively easy to scratch, but not the X-Metal casing (if you're careful with it). Can't really say about the Ion-plated Stainless, because I've never even worn any of mine, but I'm sure they scratch easilly, too.

I can take care of my stuff, but I'm a bit disappointed. I always thought, that this watch is heavy duty.

I've put mine thru hell and it's held up really well - I have heard from people that the crystal scratches easily but I must say the one I have has held up like a champ - no scratches at all....

When you guys are getting crystals replaced, are you going to a watch shop/jeweler or oakley store?

just call oakley customer service and tell them that you need to have a crystal replaced in an oakley watch, and they will direct you where you need to go.

Would the same place be able to swap the face as well?
