I'd say how shocked I am with the going prices on ebay for these Frogskins. However, I sort of get the impression that it's a Supreme thing, and not necessarily an Oakley thing that is driving the going rate right now. I'd never heard of Supreme before this, so what do I know?!?

It could also been a nostalgia kind of thing too. Think about all of the guys who were around when the original Frogskins came out and then they are re-releasing it...I'd be estatic. On the other hand, with ebay, they could easily just buy an original pair for far less than the going rate of the Supreme's, but oddly more than retail when they originally came out.

I think I have figured out how the scalpers are running the show. I think that they shill bid their listings up when they have officially released the rare glasses. This results in a high ending price for the initial few. Then, they start posting BIN auctions that were at or a little below what those ended for, so people think "Hey, thats basically a steal compared to what others have ended for"...andthen when that starts to not work, they start pushing out more no reserve auctions to getrid of what they have....but then people who bought them at 300+ will push the bidding up on the auctions that go lower since they still think compared to what they paid, that they are a deal....so basically they are taking advantage of peoples referent states hardcore.

Yeah, that's an old trick scalpers have used for a long while now. Artificially inflating prices based on hype and cashing in before everything deflates. I don't know if it's the case with the Supreme stuff, but that's one of the tactics they use.

You'll probably still be paying a little above retail if you wait(like the Ruby Five 3.0), but at least it won't be double retail.

I have to omit I paid a way too much for 2 pairs($260). 1 pair didn't even have the strap. When I asked the seller he said he didn't even noticet the strap was missing until he saw the other auctions. I guess I was realing from the fact that I will never get the DF Gascans. I bought on impulse. VERY BAD!!!

Sorry to dig this up, but it looks like there's 2 new colors that look like they're FMJ. Maybe they'll be cheaper this time? lol Hopefully there'll be more non-Supreme colorways as well?
