I don't know if anyone has suggested this or not yet, but I think it would be cool to have a photographic history/timeline of the microbag (as far as OR members can figure it out). Kind of like the "glasses at a glance" page. All colors, shapes and sizes of microbags will be represented (especially my favorite--the hot pink one from the '80s). Please let me know if you all think this is a good or stooopid idea. I think it sounds like a fun new project--something new for us all to photograph! Let's all chip in so that it won't be too much work for Dann ;-)

i think it's good idea, good when buying vintage pieces, like for newbies. i think if the members that has them should sent the pics and desription of which oakleys, and date, would make dann life easier, if he makes the choice of doing it.

It's a good idea. I have a few from when they weren't very microfibery at all. Again, when I have the time of course.

Not really sure. I've seen a lot of the light grey bags paired with vintage razor blades--so they could be from that era.

Late 80's, in the Blade/Razor/Slit era.

You sure they're not just dirty white bags? I rem the late 80s, early 90s Blade family bags being white with Blue strings. At the same time Frogs would've been Pink then Blue and then the Grey bags kicked in on all.

Seemed like O Frames always had the cotton bag. All the ones I ever sold did.

Almost all of my microbags have a tag which says 'genuine software' but on 2 of them it says 'HDO' instead. Is this a recent change or do they only come with certain models?

Thanks Marcel.

If they are the new model, I think it's a little impovement. I like that the tag is now more of a rectangle than a square. But seeing it's now also possible to print directly on the bag I'm a little bit dissapointed they didn't go for that (except for artist series etc).

The case on my Factory Pilot Lights is made of fake suede, has a spring-loaded end to keep it closed and was made in France!
