they don't sell very well at all.
we sold one Whisker Transition at my store, and they guy returned it the next day (didn't change enough).

that's really the problem. you pay a huge premium for the trans lenses, and they don't really get very dark.

Funny thing is I thought Oakley intended transition for their perscription clear glasses. To me it didn't really make a whole lot of sense for transition sunglasses... well it makes sense, but to a limited degree.

Whats humorous aka as funny to me is you can go out and buy a pair of Tifosi Sunglasses for $55 and get a better photo chromatic lens. I'm not saying the Tifosi has the Oakley style, but this transition lens is a extremely poor first foray by Oakley. And yes I bought a transition Monster dog I NEVER wear.

Yeah... but look at them. I mean yuck! I wouldn't be caught dead in something so ugly.

I haven't seen the Tifosi lenses since none of the bike shops around here carry them, but Oakley makes the best functioning photochromic lens I've ever seen. WileyX, Sarengeti, Specialized, etc don't hold a candle to the darkening ability of the Oakley lens. And I won't even comment on the clarity.

Even so, nobody wants them. If they had the same price premium as a Fire or Ti lens, they'd sell better.

Transition sell well in the O Stores from what I understand.

The common consumer who's attracted to the premise of the lens (any photochromatic) thinks they'll be dark while in a vehicle. It always comes up when you're selling to them. It's usually the reason it comes back. You can always see the disappointment on the faces of those in search of Serengetis when you tell them they won't be dark in a vehicle.

The O store in San Diego is selling the transitions pretty well. I have the Racing Jackets and I agree, the transition isn't as fast as I would like but it's ok with me.

The Transitions stuff sells pretty well in my store, (and we've yet to have any of it returned- one benefit of having a 90%-tourist customer base) especially considering how ugly the two original lens options are.

I don't understand why they haven't made the Emerald and other Trans/Irid Rx lenses available in plano frames. THOSE would sell out in minutes.

I got the transitions grey RX by O in my Square Wire 2.0 and it works very well, I use it everyday. I think O Transitions is the best for RX users, but it should be also on O.com

Thanks for the pics. Head on is a bit more square than I'd like, but then you shouldn't mess with perfection. According to O my pair hasn't even shipped yet. Backordered! And I ordered them mid last week. Gah.

Nice. DO me a favor and compare the Pup lenses to a Canteen lens. They look close in pictures and I'm wondering if they are in fact the same.

Well I had the chance of trying on the Monster Pup today. Must say I realy like the fit. Only had a small mirror but the seemed to suit me. Definatley a squarer shape to them which reminded me of the Twitch. The thinner arms and smaller icon are also a very nice part of them.
I think these will be very popular.

I must say, between this and the Gascan S I might finally be arsed to buy an O-Matter frame. Really classy lookin' shades. I'm impressed.

I had expected the MP to be noticeabley smaller than MD. From the straight-on pic above, it actually looks the same or even larger due to the more square lens shape. Is that just an illusion?

it's not terribly smaller as the PUP would imply, but it appears more square, but if you look, the lines are nearly the same, it is the lens cuts that are drastically more square. Nice job, but what's with all the new stuff being produced in earth tone colors and no loud lenses? No ice, fire, emerald, + red?? Bring back a violet iridium in a matte black pup!!!! fire and tortoise! let's get crazy!!!

I agree. Oakley is being pretty stingey with the colored lenses lately. I love my Violet lenses & I'm pretty sure others would too if they had it in more frame options. Matte Black/ Violet would be a great combo. Plus Bring back Blue Iridium!!!
