A couple weeks ago, I fell on my Mag Switches (very delicate, by the way) on carpet (with a good pad underneath) and they broke in three places!!! Both spring hinges broke and so did the flex coupler. I called Oakley like the next day and they said they have no more parts for the Switch!? They don't even have replacement spring hinges for them?!! They couldn't even fix them if I sent them in. Be careful with your Switches--they break very easily--especially if they have been worn for more than a year. The only thing Oakley offered me was $80 off a pair of their current X Metal lineup. But I want new switches (perhaps the Pearl/Fire this time). They are so light. I miss them... So I did what any O-lover would do... I superglued them back together (flex coupler area) and both spring hinge areas. They are good for little more than shelf decoration--although I can still put them on--they're just not the same with out the spring hinges and flex coupler--they feel really rigid and inflexible on my face. Let me know if anyone has a pair they want to pawn off on me. :-)

My brother tried to get his fixed after they corroded, and they only offered him an M Frame Array. Vaults have them for $60 or so though.

In my opinion the switch was/is a aberration. They decolour, they break very easy, they were very exp. and they aren't that light.

I understand that your sad now... I'm sure someone can help you with a cheap pair.

Switch felt lighter than a lot of wires. Spike is heavy. Switch just looks it.

I would reiterate Dann's mention of tracking down a pair at an Oakley Vault (outlet retail stores for Oakley). They generally have Magnesium-a-plenty, and at good prices.

Other problems aside, they were incredibly light for something that chunky.

If not for the rigidity, you'd never know they weren't O-Matter.

I particularly loved the Mag line. They're just damn sexy. Thanks for the tip on the Vaults! Hopefully I can find a few at those prices!

On the same line, when I bought the Why 3 a few weeks ago, it had cracks too. Sent it to Warranty for replacement parts at cost to me but they said they didn't have anything! I wanted to cry...been wanting those for so long...

Be careful with your Why 3 glasses as well!

My local vault store always have the mag switches and I would be happy to help should anyone need one.

I just wondered if anyone could post a picture of their corroded frames or problems with the magnesium

When money comes back in synch with my life, I would love a second pair. I love mine...wear them at least once per month.

I agree. I love my pearl with fire! I just don't wear them that much. I would love to get a second pair someday.
