Oddly enough, a recent release guide has +Red at 17% and +Red polar at 19%. Confusing in that the +Red doesn't match the database, and that the polarized version is 2% greater (instead of less than).

I rest easy that Oakley finds such miniscule details to drive us mad.

I've seen the transmission charts change over time. I try to lock down the first instance I find. But if I don't find one, then I hold off adding to the DB. I don't want to guess, but if I leave it blank, the value will default to 0, and cause all sorts of sorting issues.

Does anyone remember the names of these early display cabinets? I'm not showing the largest one

They were referred to as "Zolatone" displays. It was the name of the material and paint finish we used.

Yes, 3 sizes (variations). Freestanding eyewear, Counter top and Goggle display. A little trivia; The berry colored mirror was coveted and often stolen.

Here's an odd question for you guys.I have a gentleman who is trying to sell me a pair of Oakley Romeo 2's but they don't have a model number anywhere on the sunglasses themselves. He's telling me that he bought them directly from Oakley and that they never had the model number anywhere on the frame. Is that the case with the Romeo 2's? Or is he feeding me a line of garbage

Most R2s will not have any markings on the frame.

Here's another X metal question for you guys. I recently picked up a pair of X metal/Ruby Juliets that don't have a serial number or a model number on them. I have both serialized Juliets and Juliets with model numbers on them, but haven't ever heard of Juliet's not having any markings whatsoever on the left ear stem. Any ideas? I would post pictures but I don't have them in hand yet. Thanks in advance

That's normal. There was several years between when Oakley stopped serializing their XM frames and started etching parts number/frame measurements where there were no etchings at all.

I recall the Hatchet and Why 8.x series being the first that I saw with the model numbers on the inside. So late 2004 was the end of serials, and sometime in 2005 began the SKU printing. I don't think I have any X-Metal from after 2004, so I can't verify any of the more modern Juliet's/X-Metal XX's.

X-metal parts numbers/frame measurements was around 2008.

Very nice. It is not an SI exclusive product. It is a regular release item and there was a matching money clip that was also available (though they don’t call it a Crest Money Clip on the product label).

What is the best method to take the lenses out of the Inmate? There are no screws and the videos I've found are with cheap, bendy lenses. I feel more comfortable popping lenses in acetate frames any day over this.

You pop the lenses out the front, but it’s not as easy as doing it with O Matter. O Matter has more flex, so lenses come out easier. C5 metal frames are more stiff, so you have to separate the top of the frame (and bottom as well if you need) ever so slightly from the lens with your fingers while you pop the lens out.

Whatever you do, I suggest you DO NOT use a metal tool like this:

I have a feeling some bright green Walleva lenses will be going back in there, so the OEM were sacrificial.

Just when you think the frame will bend mercilessly, the lens comes out. been there. Keep a good grip on the frame. I agree with the acetate, ray bans are a bitch but at least you can heat them up
